Step One: Gather all materials
It’s important to have all your materials before you
put the child on the changing table.

5. Step Two: Place pad on changing

table
This will protect the changing area and also keep the
child from sliding around the table

6. Step Three: Lay child on changing
+
table
Once the child is on the changing table, do not leave
him/her unattended

We’ve learned 3 steps so far…
 Step One: Gather all materials at the changing table
 Step Two: Place pad on the changing table
 Step Three: Place child onto changing table
Now we will move on to Step Four…

Step Four: Remove
soiled/wet diaper and
clean child with wipes
* Remember to wipe from front to
back and use each wipe only once.

Step Five: Place diaper
in bag and throw in
trash

Step Six: If you did not
wear gloves, use a wipe
to clean your hands

Step Seven: Apply diaper cream if
needed

Step Eight: Put clean
diaper on child

Step Nine: Wash your hands and
the child’s hands

Step Ten: Help the child return to
the group

Step Eleven: Clean and sanitize the
changing area
