Mr. G was worried about his HIV status and ability to provide for his family since his CD4 count was declining despite treatment. After speaking to Reitumetse at AllLife about diet and adherence, his CD4 count increased significantly. Mr G took out a life insurance policy with AllLife. Mr G was scared and unsure of how to deal with his HIV+
status. He was stressed and worried about his wife and children as he did not think he would be around to
help them in the future. That was until he spoke to Reitumetse Petsanyane in PQ/PTC.
Reitumetse counselled Mr G who was concerned because he felt like he was doing all of the right things to
look after his health, but his CD4 count was getting worse! He did not feel that the doctors he was seeing
were helping him. Reitumetse spoke to Mr G about all of his concerns and even went so far as to discuss
healthy eating with him along with recommendations of healthier options he could include in his diet.
Reitumetse also took Mr G through the adherence benefit that would be available to him as a client of
AllLife. Mr G still had a lot of medical questions, and that was where Kirsten Gunningham, our underwriting
manager stepped in. Kirsten realised that Mr G would benefit from seeing a specialist in HIV and along with
Viwe Mankanku, one of our medical administrators, they sent Mr G for all of his medical tests and referred
him to an HIV specialist who could answer any of Mr G’s questions about his HIV status.
Mr G phoned Kirsten after seeing the doctor to whom he was referred. Mr G said that since his phone call
with Reitumetse, he had been following the healthy eating plan they had discussed, and his CD4 count had
increased from 437/uL to 560/uL! Mr G was in awe of this massive jump of his CD4 count after merely
talking to the team at AllLife and making a few changes to his diet as suggested by Reitumetse. Mr G
extended his thanks to the team that had assisted him from AllLife and said that he felt that with AllLife and
his doctors on his side, he would now go from strength to strength. Mr G said he now had the right team
