7. Midsummer night’s dream-Summary
• Hermia runs away into the woods with Lysander because she
does not want to marry Demetrius and Helena , her friend who
loves Demetrius , follow her.
• In the woods the king of the fairies is angry with his Queen and
wants Puck his helper to use a magical flower on Titania. This
flower can make someone fall in love with the first person they
see. In the woods there are some workers who are practicing a
play to perform for Duke Theseus on his wedding day. The
funniest is a weaver, Nick Bottom. Puck turns Nick’s head into a
donkey’s head and makes Titania fall in love with him. He
makes Lysander and Demetrius fall in love with Helena. Hermia
is very angry. Oberon tells Puck to fix everything and he does.
• In the morning they all think that everything was a
dream.Lysander marries Hermia. Demetrius marries Helena

13. Twelfth night- summary
• In Illyria, Italy there is a storm and Viola and her twin
brother, Sebastian , are in a shipwreck. Viola believes that
her brother dies in the storm. Viola dresses as a young man,
she calls herself Cesario and goes to work for Duke Orsino.
Orsino is in love with Lady Olivia. Olivia’s brother died and
she does not want to see anyone. Olivia falls in love with
Viola because she thinks Viola is the young man Cesario.
Olivia’s uncle and the fool Feste play a trick on Malvolio .
Malvolio thinks Olivia loves him. Viola falls in love with
Orsino but he thinks she is the young man Cesario. Viola’s
brother is not dead. He and his friend Antonio try to find
Viola. In the end Sebastian gets married with Olivia and
Viola gets married with Orsino and the twins find each
other.

• Baptista has two daughters that he wants to find husbands for.
Bianca is sweet and quiet.There are many men that want to marry
her. His older daughter, Katherina is known for being wild and
angry and Baptista worries that no one will marry her.
• Lucentio sees Bianca and falls in love with her. He disguises
himself as a teacher in order to spend more time with her.
• Petruchio hears about Katherina and decides that he wants to
marry her. He thinks that he can tame her wild behaviour. When
Katherina and Petruchio meet, Katherina does not like him at all.
He acts crazier than she does. Katherina is not allowed to eat or
sleep. Katherina and Petruchio fight at first but they learn to
respect each other.
• At the wedding celebration for all their marriages, Katherina
surprises everyone .She has changed and everyone agrees that
she has become the perfect wife.

24. Hamlet- Summary
• Prince Hamlet is sad for his father’s death and also
because his mother Queen Gertrude marries
Claudius, his father’s brother.The ghost of Hamlet’s
father appears to him and tells him that Claudius has
poisoned him. Hamlet swears revenge. He kills
Polonius by mistake. Polonius’s son Laertes returns to
Denmark to take revenge for his father’s death.
Polonius’s daughter Ophelia loves Hamlet but his
behaviour drives her to madness and she dies by
drowning. A duel takes place and ends with the death
of Gertrude, Laertes, Claudius and Hamlet.

29. Romeo and Juliet-Summary
• In Verona Italy the Montagues and the Capulets are enemies. Romeo ,
Montague’s son likes Rosaline, one of the Capulet’s nieces but when he goes to
the ball at the Capulet’s house he meets and falls in love with Juliet. Juliet at
her balcony talks about her love for Romeo. Romeo tells her he loves her and
they agree to get married.With the help of Friar Laurence they are secretly
married the next day.Tybalt , Juliet’s cousin is angry with Romeo and wants to
fight him . Romeo refuses to fight him but Mercutio his friend fights on his
behalf gets wounded and dies. Then Romeo kills Tybalt. The Prince of Verona
sends Romeo away. Juliet’s family wants her to marry Paris. She goes to Friar
Laurence for help and he gives her a potion that will put her into a deathlike
coma. The Friar promises to send a message to inform Romeo of the plan , so
that he can be there when she wakes up. The message does not go to Romeo.
He learns of Juliet’s death from his servant. Heartbroken, Romeo buys poison
and goes to see Juliet. Romeo believes Juliet is dead and he drinks the poison.
Juliet wakes up finds Romeo dead and stabs herself with his dagger.. The
families find them dead and they finally make peace .
