The King Great Goodness Part 2 ~ Mahasilava Jataka (Eng. & Chi.).pptx
God Is With Us
1.
2. Matthew 1:18 - 25 - This is how
Jesus the Messiah was born.
His mother, Mary, was engaged
to be married to Joseph. But
before the marriage took place,
while she was still a virgin, she
became pregnant through the
power of the Holy Spirit.
3. Joseph, her fiancé, was a
good man and did not want
to disgrace her publicly, so
he decided to break the
20
engagement quietly. As he
considered this, an angel of
the Lord appeared to him in
a dream.
19
4. “Joseph, son of David,” the
angel said, “do not be afraid to
take Mary as your wife. For the
child within her was conceived
21
by the Holy Spirit. And she will
have a son, and you are to
name him Jesus, for he will
save his people from their sins.
5. All of this occurred to fulfill the
Lord’s message through his
prophet: 23“Look! The virgin will
conceive a child! She will give
birth to a son, and they will call
him Immanuel, which means
‘God is with us.’
22
6. ”24When Joseph woke up, he
did as the angel of the Lord
commanded and took Mary
as his wife.
7. But he did not have sexual
relations with her until her
son was born. And Joseph
named him Jesus. NLT
25
8. Joseph
His Father - Matt 1:16 - Jacob
was the father of Joseph, the
husband of Mary. NLT
9. Vocation - Mt 13:55 - Then they
scoffed, “He’s just the
carpenter’s son, and we know
Mary, his mother, and his
brothers--James, Joseph, Simon,
and Judas. NLT
10. Age - Unknown, but common for
boys to be married at 15 or 16.
13. Deuteronomy 22:23-24 “Suppose a man meets a
young woman, a virgin who is
engaged to be married, and
he has sexual intercourse with
her.
14. If this happens within a town,
24
you must take both of them to
the gates of that town and
stone them to death. The
woman is guilty because she
did not scream for help.
15. The man must die because he
violated another man’s wife. In
this way, you will purge this evil
from among you. NLT
24. Luke 1:34-38 - Mary asked the
angel, “But how can this
happen? I am a virgin.” 35The
angel replied, “The Holy Spirit
will come upon you, and the
power of the Most High will
overshadow you.
25. So the baby to be born will
be holy, and he will be called
36
the Son of God. What’s
more, your relative Elizabeth
has become pregnant in her
old age!
26. People used to say she was
barren, but she’s now in her
sixth month. 37For nothing is
impossible with God.”
27. Mary responded, "I am the
Lord’s servant. May everything
you have said about me come
true.” And then the angel left
her. NLT
38
29. 1 Timothy 2:5 - For there is only
one God and one Mediator who
can reconcile God and humanity
—the man Christ Jesus.
30. Had Jesus not been conceived by
the Holy Spirit the following
would have resulted:
Jesus would not have been God.
What Jesus said about Himself
would have been lies.
31. His resurrection would have been
a hoax.
We would have no hope - lost
forever in our sin.
32. Jesus
Immanuel
Matthew 1:23 – “Look! The
virgin will conceive a child! She
will give birth to a son, and they
will call him Immanuel, which
means ‘God is with us.’ ” NLT
34. God is Within Us - 1 Cor 2:12 And we have received God’s
Spirit (not the world’s spirit), so
we can know the wonderful things
God has freely given us. NLT
36. Matthew 28:20 - Teach these
new disciples to obey all the
commands I have given you.
And be sure of this: I am with
you always, even to the end of
the age.” NLT
