Gilda has won over 30 national and international awards for her work in various mediums including oil, acrylics, mixed media, and photography. She was awarded the Latin American Achievement Awards in Visual Arts in 2013 and won first prize in the "Imagine Don Quixote" competition in 2005, receiving a trip to La Mancha, Spain. Gilda has received three awards from the governments of Canada and Mexico for her voluntary work and art donations to over 52 fundraising campaigns to help people and organizations in need. She has participated in over 155 solo and group art exhibitions across Canada, the United States, Mexico, Japan, Korea, and several European and South American countries.
