- Ta duøng caâu hoûi “What is this/ that?” ñeå hoûi veà 1 vaät hoaëc 1 
ñoà vaät. 
- Caâu traû lôøi ñöôïc baét ñaàu laø: It’s a/ an........... 
- Maïo töø “a” ñöôïc duøng tröôùc moät danh töø. 
- Maïo töø “a” bieán thaønh “an” khi caùc danh töø baét ñaàu baèng moät 
trong caùc nguyeân aâm sau: a, e, i, o, u. 
Ex: What is this? 
 It’s a book.

 It’s an eraser. 
III. Ñoäng töø To Be trong caâu “What are these/ those?”: 
- Ta duøng caâu hoûi “What are these/ those?” ñeå hoûi veà nhieàu 
vaät hoaëc ñoà vaät. 
- Caâu traû lôøi ñöôïc baét ñaàu laø: They’re + N soá nhieàu........... 
- Danh töø soá nhieàu laø danh töø ñöôïc theâm “s” vaøo taän cuøng. 
- Tuy nhieân, ta phaûi theâm “es” khi caùc danh töø coù chöõ caùi taän 
cuøng laø: ch, sh, x, s, o, z. 
Ex: What are these?

IV. Ñoäng töø To Be trong caâu “There is/ There are ............ . ” : 
There is + a/ an + N (in singular). 
There are + N (in plural).
