Katy Perry is promoting her new song and album in a colorful magazine advertisement. She has fluorescent purple hair and is wearing pink and purple clothing to appeal to her target female audience. The bright colors, youthful font, and urban graffiti background suggest she is aiming to attract younger viewers. The advertisement reinforces the album and song details with bold text and images to clearly communicate the product to readers.
The document discusses images selected for use in a digipak and magazine inserts. The circled images are liked and likely to be used. An image of the artist from mid-shot or long-shot is preferred for the digipak cover over a close-up. An image of the artist looking over her shoulder is selected for the digipak back. An image of the artist's lips was considered for the front but not deemed effective and will likely be used inside instead. A cheeky, flirty pose image is chosen for the magazine inserts to appeal to both men and women.
Rihanna's concert and album posters typically feature close-up images of her with red as the main color, emphasizing her hair and name. Katy Perry's posters always include an image of her with her name in bold to identify the artist and use unique props and settings. Beyoncé's posters employ mid shots and close ups to convey emotion and beauty, as well as long shots to showcase her figure, with some in black and white to suit themes of love and heartbreak.
The document discusses the design choices made for the ancillary tasks that support the main product, which is a music video for an artist named Scarlett. For the digipak and magazine insert, the group incorporated themes from popular artists like Cheryl Cole and Katy Perry to feature pictures of the artist throughout and include lyrics. They used a graffiti theme and photos from the music video location to tie all the ancillary materials together and clearly promote the song. In the future, the group noted they could improve by using the same outfit across all materials to better connect them to the main product.
Here are the key objectives for today:
1. Explain the purpose and functionality of port security on a Cisco switch.
2. Describe how the Cisco Discovery Protocol (CDP) allows directly connected Cisco devices to automatically share information.
What’s involved:
We are organising a volunteer day at Hebburn School in Newcastle for the day. In the morning we will be working with children to help them create a design for a wall in their school. About 2pm we will then choose the best design and then head back to Uni. The winning design will then be enlarged using the printer in Athena and then put on the wall in the school. The winner will get a certificate at their school assembly.
What’s in it for you:
A chance to gain a recognised certificate from the university volunteers programme to add to your CV from a design related subject.
We need to know how people would like to come so we can arrange transport, the cost of transport will be less than £10 per person.
Universal Pictures would be a suitable distributor for the media product because they previously distributed similar gangster films through their acquisition of Polygram Filmed Entertainment. Columbia TriStar, formed by Columbia Pictures, could also distribute the film as they handled distribution of films like Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels and Snatch. Vertigo Films, a British production and distribution company, may also be a good fit given they have distributed films in the same genre, such as The Football Factory.

The music video challenges conventions of female pop artists by filming performance shots outside against a graffiti wall and in a bedroom, with the artist not dancing at all, rather than using typical studio shots of the artist dancing. It also meets conventions by including a narrative about the artist's past relationship and showing them arguing and breaking up, focusing on relationships, love and break ups as most female pop artist music videos do.

Essentials of Automations: Exploring Attributes & Automation ParametersSafe Software
Building automations in FME Flow can save time, money, and help businesses scale by eliminating data silos and providing data to stakeholders in real-time. One essential component to orchestrating complex automations is the use of attributes & automation parameters (both formerly known as “keys”). In fact, it’s unlikely you’ll ever build an Automation without using these components, but what exactly are they?
Attributes & automation parameters enable the automation author to pass data values from one automation component to the next. During this webinar, our FME Flow Specialists will cover leveraging the three types of these output attributes & parameters in FME Flow: Event, Custom, and Automation. As a bonus, they’ll also be making use of the Split-Merge Block functionality.
You’ll leave this webinar with a better understanding of how to maximize the potential of automations by making use of attributes & automation parameters, with the ultimate goal of setting your enterprise integration workflows up on autopilot.

HCL Notes and Domino License Cost Reduction in the World of DLAUpanagenda
Webinar Recording: https://www.panagenda.com/webinars/hcl-notes-and-domino-license-cost-reduction-in-the-world-of-dlau/
The introduction of DLAU and the CCB & CCX licensing model caused quite a stir in the HCL community. As a Notes and Domino customer, you may have faced challenges with unexpected user counts and license costs. You probably have questions on how this new licensing approach works and how to benefit from it. Most importantly, you likely have budget constraints and want to save money where possible. Don’t worry, we can help with all of this!
We’ll show you how to fix common misconfigurations that cause higher-than-expected user counts, and how to identify accounts which you can deactivate to save money. There are also frequent patterns that can cause unnecessary cost, like using a person document instead of a mail-in for shared mailboxes. We’ll provide examples and solutions for those as well. And naturally we’ll explain the new licensing model.
Join HCL Ambassador Marc Thomas in this webinar with a special guest appearance from Franz Walder. It will give you the tools and know-how to stay on top of what is going on with Domino licensing. You will be able lower your cost through an optimized configuration and keep it low going forward.
These topics will be covered
- Reducing license cost by finding and fixing misconfigurations and superfluous accounts
- How do CCB and CCX licenses really work?
- Understanding the DLAU tool and how to best utilize it
- Tips for common problem areas, like team mailboxes, functional/test users, etc
- Practical examples and best practices to implement right away
Digital Banking in the Cloud: How Citizens Bank Unlocked Their MainframePrecisely
Inconsistent user experience and siloed data, high costs, and changing customer expectations – Citizens Bank was experiencing these challenges while it was attempting to deliver a superior digital banking experience for its clients. Its core banking applications run on the mainframe and Citizens was using legacy utilities to get the critical mainframe data to feed customer-facing channels, like call centers, web, and mobile. Ultimately, this led to higher operating costs (MIPS), delayed response times, and longer time to market.
Ever-changing customer expectations demand more modern digital experiences, and the bank needed to find a solution that could provide real-time data to its customer channels with low latency and operating costs. Join this session to learn how Citizens is leveraging Precisely to replicate mainframe data to its customer channels and deliver on their “modern digital bank” experiences.
Introduction of Cybersecurity with OSS at Code Europe 2024Hiroshi SHIBATA
I develop the Ruby programming language, RubyGems, and Bundler, which are package managers for Ruby. Today, I will introduce how to enhance the security of your application using open-source software (OSS) examples from Ruby and RubyGems.
The first topic is CVE (Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures). I have published CVEs many times. But what exactly is a CVE? I'll provide a basic understanding of CVEs and explain how to detect and handle vulnerabilities in OSS.
Next, let's discuss package managers. Package managers play a critical role in the OSS ecosystem. I'll explain how to manage library dependencies in your application.
I'll share insights into how the Ruby and RubyGems core team works to keep our ecosystem safe. By the end of this talk, you'll have a better understanding of how to safeguard your code.
Have you ever been confused by the myriad of choices offered by AWS for hosting a website or an API?

Conversational agents, or chatbots, are increasingly used to access all sorts of services using natural language. While open-domain chatbots - like ChatGPT - can converse on any topic, task-oriented chatbots - the focus of this paper - are designed for specific tasks, like booking a flight, obtaining customer support, or setting an appointment. Like any other software, task-oriented chatbots need to be properly tested, usually by defining and executing test scenarios (i.e., sequences of user-chatbot interactions). However, there is currently a lack of methods to quantify the completeness and strength of such test scenarios, which can lead to low-quality tests, and hence to buggy chatbots.
To fill this gap, we propose adapting mutation testing (MuT) for task-oriented chatbots. To this end, we introduce a set of mutation operators that emulate faults in chatbot designs, an architecture that enables MuT on chatbots built using heterogeneous technologies, and a practical realisation as an Eclipse plugin. Moreover, we evaluate the applicability, effectiveness and efficiency of our approach on open-source chatbots, with promising results.

[OReilly Superstream] Occupy the Space: A grassroots guide to engineering (an...Jason Yip
The typical problem in product engineering is not bad strategy, so much as “no strategy”. This leads to confusion, lack of motivation, and incoherent action. The next time you look for a strategy and find an empty space, instead of waiting for it to be filled, I will show you how to fill it in yourself. If you’re wrong, it forces a correction. If you’re right, it helps create focus. I’ll share how I’ve approached this in the past, both what works and lessons for what didn’t work so well.
Dandelion Hashtable: beyond billion requests per second on a commodity serverAntonios Katsarakis
This slide deck presents DLHT, a concurrent in-memory hashtable. Despite efforts to optimize hashtables, that go as far as sacrificing core functionality, state-of-the-art designs still incur multiple memory accesses per request and block request processing in three cases. First, most hashtables block while waiting for data to be retrieved from memory. Second, open-addressing designs, which represent the current state-of-the-art, either cannot free index slots on deletes or must block all requests to do so. Third, index resizes block every request until all objects are copied to the new index. Defying folklore wisdom, DLHT forgoes open-addressing and adopts a fully-featured and memory-aware closed-addressing design based on bounded cache-line-chaining. This design offers lock-free index operations and deletes that free slots instantly, (2) completes most requests with a single memory access, (3) utilizes software prefetching to hide memory latencies, and (4) employs a novel non-blocking and parallel resizing. In a commodity server and a memory-resident workload, DLHT surpasses 1.6B requests per second and provides 3.5x (12x) the throughput of the state-of-the-art closed-addressing (open-addressing) resizable hashtable on Gets (Deletes).

Getting started
1. Dropbox Quick Start
What is Dropbox?
Dropbox is a free service that lets you bring all your photos, docs, and videos anywhere. Any file you
save to your Dropbox will also automatically save to all your computers, phones, and even the Dropbox
website. This means that you can start working on your computer at school or the office, and finish on
your home computer. Never email yourself a file again!
The Dropbox Folder
After you install Dropbox on your computer, a Dropbox folder is created. If you’re reading this guide,
then that means you had no problems finding your Dropbox folder :). This folder is just like any other
folder on your computer, but with a twist. Any file you save to your Dropbox folder is also saved to all
your other computers, phones, and the Dropbox website.
On top of your Dropbox is a green icon that lets you know how your Dropbox is doing:
Green circle and check: All the files in your Dropbox are up to date.
Blue circle and arrows: Files in your Dropbox are currently being updated.
2. Adding files to your Dropbox
Step 1 Drag and drop a file into your Dropbox folder.
Step 2 The blue icon means your file’s syncing with Dropbox.
That’s it! The green icon means that your file has finished saving
to your other computers and the Dropbox website. Now that your
file’s in Dropbox, any changes made to it will be automatically
detected and updated to your other computers.
The Dropbox Right-click/Context Menu
When you Right-Click (Windows/Linux) or Control-Click (Mac) a file or folder in your Dropbox, you’ll see a
menu that lets you do a few neat things with Dropbox:
•
Share a Folder Invite your friends, family and teammates to a folder in your Dropbox. It’ll be as if you
saved that folder straight to their computers.
•
View Previous Versions View a record of changes made to a file. You can choose to go back to an
earlier version of a file if you’d like.
•
Browse on Dropbox Website View a file on the Dropbox website.
•
Get Link Make a link to any file or folder in your Dropbox. You can then send this link to anyone you’d
like to view the file — even if they don’t have Dropbox!
3. The Dropbox Tray/Menu bar icon
The Dropbox tray or menu bar icon is located on the bottom (Windows) or top (Mac/Linux) of your
screen, and lets you check the status and settings of your Dropbox. The same green, blue, and red icons
that appear on the files and folders in your Dropbox also appear over this icon to let you know the status of your Dropbox.
Right-clicking this icon gives you a few options:
•
Open your Dropbox folder, the Dropbox website, or the Dropbox help center.
•
See which files were recently changed.
•
View an estimate of how long it will take Dropbox to finish updating files.
•

4. Frequently Asked Questions
How much does Dropbox cost?
Dropbox is free! If you run out of space, visit https://www.dropbox.com/plans to view our available subscriptions.
How much space does my Dropbox have?
Free accounts come with 2GB of space (deleted files and revisions won’t count against your limit). You
can always check your usage by visiting your account settings page at https://www.dropbox.com/account.
How long until my files are fully synced?
Dropbox will download as fast or as slow as your network allows, and will try its best to not hog your
connection. If you’d like to limit your upload or download rates, you can change them in Dropbox’s preferences. For step by step instructions, visit the help article at https://www.dropbox.com/help/26.
Dropbox is fast! How could it have possibly synced all of my files in that time?
Dropbox will look to see if it already has the file you’re trying to upload. If it senses that it already has the
file, it won’t bother to upload it again. If the file has been changed recently, it will only upload/download
the changes rather than the whole thing.
How secure is Dropbox?
Dropbox takes the security of your files and of our software very seriously. Dropbox uses Secure Socket
Layer (SSL) and AES-256 encryption. AES-256 is the same encryption standard used by banks to secure
customer data.
Can I access Dropbox on my mobile device?
The Dropbox App is available for iPhone, iPad, Android, and Blackberry. To install Dropbox on your
mobile device, visit http://www.dropbox.com/mobile. You can also get to your Dropbox at any time by
visiting http://www.dropbox.com from your phone.
