Here’s the prompt for today’s challenge: George Strait went to Texas State University

degree in Agriculture. For today’s picture challenge, we want to see you planting
something new to show your love for agriculture (just like King George)! Don’t forget to
use the hashtag #TexasLegendsGS and submit your photo by midnight.”
July 14th 10:00am
“We were “Wrapped” around @___________’s pretty little finger after seeing their 5
Days Strait Instagram challenge submission yesterday!
This year’s Texas Legends bobblehead Instagram competition is officially over! –Just in
time for you to stop by the Dell Diamond to FINALLY pick up your King George
bobblehead! Gates open at 5:30pm TONIGHT and the first 2,500 fans will get a
bobblehead. Hurry over because we can’t wait to “Give It Away”!”
In-Game
Pre-Game: Cowboy hat and/or western costume parade. Just like the superhero and
princess parades, anyone who comes dressed for the parade in time for it to start
(6:30pm I believe) is eligible to be in it.
Best Cowboy Hat Competition
If I remember correctly, for Bark in the Park, we did a dog costume contest. I was told
that staff would just be looking around at all costumes in the park and they would pick
the best one in the 7th inning. Prize would be a BOG card.
If we want it to be more organized, I would suggest a table set up (same place as tiara
pick up) where people could enter the competition. All ages can enter. Must fill out a
sheet with personal info when they enter so we have a way to contact them. If we do
not already have an info sheet like this drafted, we would need to make one.
Competition ends end of the 6th, winner is chosen by the end of the 7th.
Have mini cowboy hats in the picnic area for kids to decorate. If the cost of this is too
high, would we be able to charge $1-2 to decorate a hat? Not a contest so no prizes and
no rules. Probably would need Kaylyn, Melyn, or another intern in the picnic area giving
instructions/helping. Would be available from the time the gates open through the 4th
inning.
Is there a possibility we could make this a last minute exclusive Junior Sluggers event?
We wouldn’t have to have as many hats and it could serve as incentive for more families
to purchase the Junior Slugger package.
Finish the lyrics promo but with George Strait songs.
Replace one of our in-game on field promos with a roping competition.
Possible Roping Competitions:
4. -Hula hoop washers but instead of having baseball to throw in each hoop, we say they
have to land the rope in each hoop.
-Hose Em Down but rather than having pantyhose, they try to rope the water bottles to
get them to fall over. If water bottles would be too small, we could set up cones instead.
Catcher’s Cowboy Gear Race. We start them in cowboy boots, have them run to pick up
a vest (or flannel or toy guitar), and finish by grabbing their cowboy hat at 3rd.
