2. Q2: MOVING TO AUSTRALIA
“I moved to Australia from Jakarta, Indonesia on
Australia Day back in 2005. This was mainly to do with
family commitments but also for a change. My
favourite memories since moving here have been
experiencing the multicultural aspects of the country
and also seeing the different landscapes throughout
the country. My least fond memories would have to be
the difficulty of trying to speak English fluently when I
first moved here and also trying to get used to all the
new norms and ways of the Australian people as
opposed to the people back in Indonesia.

According to data from the Australian Bureau of Statistics the population of residents
born in Australia living in the area (2260, NSW) rose by 0.3%, those born in America
rose from 95 to 131 which is an increase of 0.1%. Those born in Scotland remained
fairly steady only rising from 142 to 163. The only decrease from this area was the
population of those born in New Zealand which dropped from 1.9% to 1.7% from
2006 to 2011.
