7. If one lit a fire that consumed the wood, stones or earth of another, he is חייב . This is learned from the פסוק :  כִּי תֵצֵא אֵשׁ וּמָצְאָה קֹצִים וְנֶאֱכַל גָּדִישׁ אוֹ הַקָּמָה אוֹ הַשָּׂדֶה שַׁלֵּם יְשַׁלֵּם הַמַּבְעִר אֶת הַבְּעֵרָה : If a fire goes out and finds thorns, and a stack of grain or the standing grain or the field is consumed, the one who lit the fire must pay
