Description:
 Toshiba Multi-Function Printers (MFP) plays an important role in facilitating the
flow of information and refining office operations in general. These are very
huge printers for large scale corporate customers.
 Toshiba India works on adding more value to their customers by providing
innovative features like Network-Ready, Print-Ready, Scan-Ready, Copy-ready,
Internet-Ready, and e-FILING (Electronic Filing), Fax, Network Fax, Copy to
Box, Copy to File, Private, Scheduled, Hold Print, Print to Box and many more.
 It focuses on user-friendliness allowing each and every user in a network to
increase their effectiveness through easier operation, streamlined management
and more efficient features on documents.
 There are a lot variety of settings that are needed to be done, remotely from
any user in the network, which constitute the Website called “Top Access”.
Responsibilities:
Development, Unit Testing, Configuration Management and Maintenance
Activities Performed:
 Security Software Development Tool Kit (SSDK) is the layer below Application
layer (AL). It is responsible for running business logic of the MFP. It takes the
request from Application Layer and runs the Workflow. It uses Linux IPCs for
communication between different processes.
 Gathering the requirement and understanding the specifications of SSDK.
 Performance improvement of the MFP (Multi-Functional Printer). For instance
boot up time improvement.
 Implementing the Component Requirement Specifications (CRS).
 Modularizing and optimization of the code.
 Handling of the Users on MFP, Storing the Users and its details on Database
using LDAP (Light Weight Directory Protocol). Use RBAC (Role Based Access
Protocol) to assign permissions to Users to perform functions. Use SQL
DataBase to store the Logs of User Actions. Communicating with other
processes and threads by using message queues and shared memories.
Handling multithreaded applications using semaphores and mutexes.
 Writing scripts and MySql queries to measure and analyze performance of the
system.
 Debugging Fault reports and critical issues. Sending Quick analysis of Fault
report to Japan and Effective mail communication with them.
 Unit testing, Integration testing, Writing Walkthrough Test Report (WTR)
documents, Unit Test Specification, Unit Test reports, Updating Component
Design Documents (CDD).

Description : A new authentication scheme based on verifiable secret sharing is proposed. To prevent the
authority cheating, the Certification Authority (CA) in our scheme consists of n members whose shares
redistributed without the assistance of a dealer. At least t members are necessary to create a certificate, and
less than t members can do-nothing, so that our scheme is more secure than conventional certificate-based
solutions. The user who wants to apply for a certificate can directly broadcast his ID and public key to all
members of CA, and compute his certificate by himself after receiving the partial signatures from at least t
members, which avoids the complicated certificate management and makes the scheme more feasible.
