The author reflects on strippers and their vulnerability in baring themselves for audiences. She draws parallels between strippers removing layers of clothing and herself removing layers of concealment. Underneath her facade, she yearns for an honest writing career and supportive friends without judgment. Stripping exposes what lies beneath appearances, just as stripping paint from walls reveals the original material.

This document summarizes an action research project aimed at reviving the Relay for Life cancer fundraiser event at Pauline Robert College. The researcher conducted a literature review and mixed methods study including surveys and focus groups of the college community. The goal was to determine effective motivational strategies for recruiting and retaining volunteers to plan a successful cancer fundraising event. Key findings from the literature indicated the importance of understanding motivational factors like those in Maslow's hierarchy of needs. The context provided details on the college and past challenges with sustaining the Relay for Life event.

This document introduces the Common European Framework of Reference (CEF) and explains how it aligns with the American English File course. The CEF aims to provide common standards for describing English language proficiency levels and encourages lifelong language learning and intercultural awareness. It defines six global proficiency levels but notes that progress between levels can vary between individuals. The CEF emphasizes learner autonomy and a focus on practical language use rather than just knowledge. American English File teaches the grammar, vocabulary, and skills needed to develop communicative competence as defined by the CEF.

The poem describes the journey from youth to adulthood using the metaphor of a kite. It depicts childhood as carefree and fun, represented by activities like running outside and school dances. Adulthood brings responsibilities like careers, marriage and children that ground one's dreams. Technology also changes how people socialize. Though the kite becomes weathered, it can still fly in moments of nostalgia, showing how one can still find joy despite life's changes.
This document summarizes Karen Zolo's research on media bias in missing children cases. It finds that cases involving white children from middle/upper class families receive more extensive media coverage than cases of minority or lower-income children. It analyzes two specific cases - Alexis Patterson, a black 7-year-old from Milwaukee, and Elizabeth Smart, a white 14-year-old from Utah - and finds that Elizabeth Smart's case received significantly more coverage, with more descriptive language used and her family receiving more interviews. The document concludes that all missing children deserve equal attention and consideration regardless of race or socioeconomic status.
The document proposes changing the prerequisites for PCM 300 to include a writing assessment and workshop based on faculty concerns about student writing abilities. It discusses conducting a needs assessment that found issues with grammar, structure, and conventions in student writing. The proposal considers ideas like a required assessment before PCM 300, a writing workshop, and a follow-up assessment. It prioritizes the assessment idea due to factors like preventing potential failures, using existing resources, and having no design or staffing costs. The assessment would take place before PCM 300 and allow students to demonstrate their writing level.
