The purpose of this contract was to enable the remaining survivor to have 'the choice' to continue in business and also 'the choice' not to continue in business - In January 2010 my client had those choices and options after his claim was settled.

SURRENDER VALUE T h e Policy does not acquire a Surrender Value
The option is available of converting the assurance to a Whole Life or EndowmentAssurance for a term of at
least 10 years, on the joint lives of the Lives Assured, without having to submit to Friends Provident further
evidence of health and assumbility.
The SumAssured after such conversion shall not exceed the SumAssured under this policy in force at the
time of such conversion.
After conversion, premiums will be calculated at Friends Provident's rate for theages of the Lives Assured at
that time.
The rights under any option in this Policy are limited to making suchchanges in the terms of the Policy and
substituting sucha policy as would he compatible with the requirements of paragraph 19(3) Schedule 13
Income and Corporation Taxes Act 1988.
