The Bellingcat investigation team conducted a forensic analysis of two satellite photos released by the Russian Ministry of Defense on July 21, 2014. The analysis found that:
1) The dates listed on the satellite photos have been falsified, as metadata and error level analysis showed the photos had been digitally modified using Adobe Photoshop.
2) Reference analysis found inconsistencies between the details in the photos, such as locations and vehicles, and other known information.
3) The forensic analysis clearly and undoubtedly demonstrates that the Russian MoD satellite photos were digitally altered and the listed dates are inaccurate.
