ForceSelect is a recruitment consultancy that places military veterans into civilian jobs. It was founded in 2009 by Hugh Andrée and Andy McNab. ForceSelect has three main aspects: recruitment, mentoring for veterans, and a charity foundation. It has placed over 250 veterans and has a database of over 6,000 candidates. ForceSelect helps military veterans transition smoothly to civilian employment by providing training, networking opportunities, and mentorship.

– 19,200 servicemen and women left the forces in the year to 31 December 2011 - an increase of
5.8% compared with the 12 months to 31 March 2011¹
– Post Strategic Defence and Security Review (SDSR) Armed Forces reduction from 2011:
• The Army - 102,210 ↓ 82,000
• The RAF – 41,340 ↓ 31,500
• The Navy - 35,700 ↓ 29,000
– Redundancies from all three services will continue to 2020

– ForceSelect recognised that re-training can and should be undertaken prior to leaving the Armed
Forces to ease the transition period for service leavers
– We arrange regular seminars before and during resettlement which provide opportunities for
clients and candidates to network and explore opportunities

17. School Bursaries Programme
– Unique scheme to find 100% funded bursary places for children of serving personnel, leavers
and those who have tragically lost a parent
– Designed to support those losing their boarding school allowance due to planned redundancies
– To date, four children given fully funded boarding places in top UK Independent Schools
– Following success of pilot scheme in year one, national roll out underway to assist maximum
number of service children
