Chaque couleur a une signification cachée et exerce ses effets à un niveau inconscient. Admiré durant l'Antiquité, le rouge revêtit les dieux et le clergé. À Rome, c'est la couleur des généraux, de la noblesse, des patriciens et des empereurs romains. La couleur rouge symbolise avant tout le bonheur en Chine, mais il symbolise aussi la vie, les flammes et de la chaleur. Mais elle symbolise aussi la mort, cette dernière étant considérée comme une renaissance en Asie. Les processions funéraires asiatiques sont encore de nos jours colorés de rouge.
Le rouge est symbole d’amour, de chaleur, de sensualité et de passion. Il apporte une sensation de chaleur. C’est la couleur la plus puissante, la plus dynamique et avec le plus fort potentiel d’action.

There were many Western female artists and paintings in history. It is not possible to do them all in a single slideshow. Here is my selection mapped out the more well-known Western female painters in history. I have also given priority for those have a portrait of the artist.

Questo ciclo di lezioni in lingua inglese, prende il titolo “Un viaggio nell’arte tra l’amore sacro e profano”. In pratica viene messo a confronto il tema iconografico della Madonna con il Bambino e quello di Venere con Cupido attraverso le opere d’arte più rappresentative esposte in quattro tra i più rappresentativi musei d’Europa: The State Hermitage Museum di SanPietroburgo, il Victoria and Albert Museum di Londra, il Museo di Capodimonte di Napoli e il Museo del Prado di Madrid.
Prima di passare alla visione le singole opere d’arte, il progetto prevede un conciso cenno storico circa l’origine e la struttura dei suddetti musei. Le opere che saranno analizzate sono soprattutto dipinti, oscillanti cronologicamente tra l’XI e il XIX secolo, ma non mancherà la descrizione anche di oggetti d’arte di diversa tipologia (sculture, bronzi, arti applicate, etc.). Per ogni opera esaminata, prima della sua descrizione si procederà con una breve introduzione biografica dell’autore.

Flowering lilacs for celebrate spring2
Lilacs have a deep-rooted history originating in ancient Greek mythology. It was said that Pan, the god of forests and fields was hopelessly in love with a nymph named Syringa. One day he was pursuing her through a forest and, afraid of his advances, she turned herself into a lilac shrub to disguise herself. To Pan’s surprise, he could not find Syringa, but he did find the shrub. Because a lilac shrub consists of hollow reeds, he cut the reeds and created the first pan pipe. The scientific name for lilac is Syringa vulgaris, and the name is derived from the Greek word “syrinks” which means pipe.
The common name, lilac, was borrowed from the French and Spanish word of the same name. Similarly, the Arabic word for this flower is “lilak”. The word lilac refers to the light purple color of its flowers.

Nino Chakvetadze is a contemporary artist from Georgia. She is a painter and illustrator who loves to portray children, a creative artist who was born in Tbilisi, Georgia. She studied art from Art Institute Nikoladze (1986-1990) and Tbilisi State Academy of Art. Nino becomes a member of Georgian Painters’ Union in 1997.

Multidisciplinary artist has worked in all type of supports and materials: painting mural and of easel, painting in tiles, design of jewels, conception of spaces, sculpture, etc... He is an accomplished muralist and figurative painter. Born in 1944 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The artist lives and works in Estoril, Portugal.
Studied ceramics and printmaking at Art School in Mar del Plata, Argentina. Graduated in Architecture from the National University of Buenos Aires, Argentina. Studied engraving and lithography in the Fine Arts School of Barcelona, Spain. His works have been shown at Solo Exhibitions in New York, San Francisco, Canada, Spain, Portugal and another countries. He has also participated in more than 60 Collective Exhibitions in Argentina, Brazil, USA, Venezuela, Belgium, Spain and Portugal.

Living through a turbulent time in the history of his native Barcelona, he was known as a portraitist, sketching and painting the intellectual, economic, and political elite of Barcelona, Paris, Madrid, and beyond; he was also known for his paintings of crowd scenes ranging from the audience at a bullfight to the assembly for an execution to rioters in the Barcelona streets. Also, a graphic designer, his posters and postcards helped to define the Catalan art movement known as modernism.

Flowering lilacs for celebrate spring2
Lilacs have a deep-rooted history originating in ancient Greek mythology. It was said that Pan, the god of forests and fields was hopelessly in love with a nymph named Syringa. One day he was pursuing her through a forest and, afraid of his advances, she turned herself into a lilac shrub to disguise herself. To Pan’s surprise, he could not find Syringa, but he did find the shrub. Because a lilac shrub consists of hollow reeds, he cut the reeds and created the first pan pipe. The scientific name for lilac is Syringa vulgaris, and the name is derived from the Greek word “syrinks” which means pipe.
The common name, lilac, was borrowed from the French and Spanish word of the same name. Similarly, the Arabic word for this flower is “lilak”. The word lilac refers to the light purple color of its flowers.

Lucca is a city and comune in Tuscany, Central Italy, situated on the river Serchio in a fertile plain near the Tyrrhenian Sea. It is the capital city of the Province of Lucca. Among other reasons, it is famous for its intact Renaissance-era city walls. Lucca was once referred to as the “City of One Hundred Churches”. There is a painting of the Annunciation in the catacomb of Priscilla in Rome dating from the second century. Arguably, no subject has been more profoundly felt and more beautifully handled by the old painters, nor more vilely mishandled by the moderns than the Annunciation, of all the scenes in the life of Mary.
Annunciation to the Blessed Virgin Mary is the Christian celebration of the announcement by the angel Gabriel to Virgin Mary that she would conceive and become the mother of Jesus the Son of God. The Annunciation has been a key topic in Christian art in general, as well as in Roman Catholic Marian art, particularly during the Middle Ages and Renaissance.

Lilacs have a deep-rooted history originating in ancient Greek mythology. It was said that Pan, the god of forests and fields was hopelessly in love with a nymph named Syringa. One day he was pursuing her through a forest and, afraid of his advances, she turned herself into a lilac shrub to disguise herself. To Pan’s surprise, he could not find Syringa, but he did find the shrub. Because a lilac shrub consists of hollow reeds, he cut the reeds and created the first pan pipe. The scientific name for lilac is Syringa vulgaris, and the name is derived from the Greek word “syrinks” which means pipe.

Mădălina Andronic, an established name among Romanian illustrators has developed a unique and easily recognisable style, being heavily inspired by fairy tales and folklore. Her work is quite varied, ranging from book illustrations and stationery to ceramics and wearables.
Cămăși nemuritoare / Timeless Shirts is a two-volume book that celebrates Romanian culture and, according to Mădălina Andronic, is meant to be a bridge between the past and the present, being at the same time an ode to the women who keep the ancestral traditions alive. The two books share stories and details of the traditional Romanian shirt (ia), which is part of the national costume. The launch of Timeless Shirts coincides with a very fortunate event: UNESCO has included the traditional blouse with embroidery on the shoulder (altiță)—an element of cultural identity of Romania and the Republic of Moldova—in its patrimony of the Intangible Cultural Heritage.
