This document provides an overview of an event discussing Rev. Pauli Murray and their life as a racial justice activist. The event will include two speakers - Jayme Goodwin discussing Murray's unconventional activism and Dr. Purushottama Bilimoria revisiting Murray's connections with Eleanor Roosevelt, Gandhism, and the Civil Rights movement. Bilimoria will discuss how Murray, as a great-granddaughter of an enslaved woman, launched a one-woman war against segregation at UNC to get their MA despite being told admission was not possible at that time. Murray drew parallels between unconstitutional American educational segregation and Nazi persecution of Jews in Germany.
