Immigration leads to temporary psycho-physical disorientation as women adapt to new geographic and social contexts. While cultural backgrounds may differ, the psychological process of adapting is often similar as immigrating women find creative ways to deal with dissonant feelings and develop new identities. Their creative processes allow them to give new forms to how they express themselves in their new environment.
