Yann Arthus-Bertrand is a French photographer, journalist, and environmentalist. He founded an aerial photography agency and took over 500,000 pictures in 100+ countries. In 1994, under a UNESCO-sponsored study of Earth, he photographed the world's most beautiful landscapes from helicopters and balloons. The book from this project, Earth from Above, sold over 3 million copies and was translated into 24 languages. In 2000, his free "Earth from Above" exhibition traveled to 110 cities worldwide and was seen by 120 million people.
