Our Digital World
We live in both the real world and a digital world. In the digital world, we construct online personas and identities and can hide behind anonymity. However, our online and real lives are also interconnected. The digital world gives us opportunities to connect with others but may weaken our social skills. It has become difficult to balance time spent in the digital world versus the real world.
Three simple steps to technology integration
This document outlines three simple steps for technology integration: locate, discovery, and demonstration. It recommends locating tools and apps using search engines and social bookmarking sites. The discovery step involves exploring and evaluating located tools and apps. The final step is demonstration, where teachers demonstrate promising tools and apps to other teachers for feedback and possible adoption in their classrooms. The overall goal is to make the process of finding and sharing new educational technologies easier for teachers.
