I hope Madalyn has as much fun reading as I had making.

A family brings a family member to the emergency department due to increasing muscle weakness over the past two days. Tests are run to diagnose the patient, and a bacterial culture of the patient's stool identifies the presence of Clostridium botulinum toxin. The patient likely contracted botulism by ingesting contaminated canned peaches. Botulinum toxin prevents the release of acetylcholine at motor neuron terminals, causing flaccid paralysis that begins in cranial muscles and progresses downward. Treatment involves antitoxin administration, mechanical ventilation if needed, and antibiotics if bacterial infection is confirmed.
