6. In the FemAging 2020 report, we introduce a
new industry sector: FemAging Tech. This sector
features innovations such as software,
diagnostics, devices, nutraceuticals, wearables,
pharmaceuticals, clothing, and other products
and services developed especially for women
ages 40+.
To understand the shape and scope of the
emerging FemAging Tech product landscape,
and whether existing solutions are meeting
older women’s needs, we conducted the
FemAging Tech Census in late 2019.
One of the most critical findings of the FemAging
Tech Census is that only 7% of products and
services we analyzed provide stress
management features, even though interest in
these solutions is high.

Health Solutions Gap

7. As outlined in the FemAging 2020 report,
36% of older women are interested in
FemAging Tech solutions that help them
manage stress.
COVID-19 may be widening the gap
between the need for innovations that
help to reduce stress and anxiety and
the limited availability of mental
health—related FemAging Tech solutions.
Also, as discussed above (and
illustrated in the word cloud
below), many women (60%)
ages 40+ are concerned about
COVID-19’s impact on their short-
and long-term stress and
anxiety levels.
