DiSEqC is a control system developed by EUTELSAT and Philips to control satellite systems over coaxial cable. It allows receivers to automatically switch between multiple LNBs and antennas. DiSEqC 1.2 expanded this to control motorized antennas but many receivers do not implement all the functions defined in the protocols. Specifically, DiSEqC 1.2 often does not include the full control commands of DiSEqC 1.1. Additionally, storing satellite positions in motorized antennas is unreliable as the receiver and antenna positions may become unsynchronized. More advanced receivers calculate positions automatically based on location.
