The Families Action Programme provides support to families through a family advisor, job planning, debt advice, and health and well-being support. Eligible families are referred through local authorities or Jobcentre Plus and must have a member claiming a working age benefit who is over 16 and eligible to live and work in the UK. This member is the "passport holder" and additional family members must also be over 16, working less than 16 hours per week or not working, and eligible to live in the UK. The programme assesses families and creates action plans to provide training in areas like vocational skills, parenting, debt management, and work experience over a maximum 12 month period.
