June 2016 – Frankfurt

Occ: 78%, ADR: €102, RevPar: €79
Figures for June were down significantly. Last year, the Ache-
ma trade fair took place. This event is always accompanied by
very high occupancy figures and a very healthy ADR. These
levels of room rate could not be maintained this year. The
Optatec and Texcare trade fairs were unable to outweigh the
Achema event, neither in terms of occupancy nor in terms of
ADR. However, there were no public holidays this June. Event
and corporate business managed to improve the situation
a little, although room rates remained well below last year’s.
Occ: -5.3%, ADR: +3.0%, RevPar: -2.5%
July remains very unpredictable. MICE
demand at the beginning of the month
is still very promising. The school summer holidays
mean there are only two business weeks, while leisure
demand has so far been rather hesitant. The next few
weeks will show whether anything will change in this
respect.
Occ: -5.2%, ADR: +5.6%, RevPar: +0.1%
This holiday month is generally a difficult
one. There are no special events, and
general corporate and MICE demand is rather on
the low side. Leisure business is anyway difficult to
predict. There is a little hope in the last three days of
August, because the school holidays will then already
be over and more corporate business can again be
expected.
Occ: -4.9%, ADR: -1.7%, RevPar: -6.5%
September will be significantly weaker
this year without the IAA international
motor show. The Automechanika, which takes place
this year, generates high rates but so far, demand
well behind expectations. September is again a full
business month this year, so that the forecasts will
surely be corrected upwards.
