3. Best Practices: Goals Visual aid to support speaker’s message Consistent “voice” of Extension Ready-made design = faster workflow
4. Best Practices: Text 3-7 lines per slide / 5-7 words per line Consistent font usage: “Trebuchet” Use statements or lists, not sentences Use space – provide breathing room
5. Best Practices: Text Don’t crowd the information Avoid flashy or curvy fonts ALL CAPS = YELLING! Avoid obscure abbreviations

16. What’s the difference between a news tip and press release? News tips announce an event on a specific day. Send them as a short e-mail. Press releases are often about people, broader topics and areas of human interest. They must be newsworthy.
