i2TIC is an interdisciplinary research group consisting of 19 researchers from 7 universities studying ICT. The group's goals are innovative research, professional growth for members, and becoming a consolidated research group by 2013. The group's research focuses on how ICT impacts individuals, organizations, the economy and society. Recent outputs include 15 ISI journal articles, 20 articles in other journals, 5 books, and 2 completed PhD theses with 10 more in progress. The group utilizes several data sources and has received recognition and funding for their work.

What's i2TIC?
The i2TIC group is an interdisciplinary research network consisting of 19 researchers from 7 universities studying the interaction between information and communication technologies (ICTs) and finance, industry, commerce and services on individuals, organizations, value creation, and economic and social development. The program focuses on enabling technology platforms, technological innovation, and systemic innovation validated by users. Initial areas of focus include broadband internet access, cooperative media, arts and humanities, and multicultural cities and citizens. Starting projects in 2006-2007 include eCatalunya, Cultural Ring, Canal LinguaMon, and Megaconference.CAT.

The objectives for 2011 are to support up to 75 finalist projects with grants up to €30k each, up to 4 projects with €100k seeds, and 1 with a €1M investment. Some example projects funded include analyzing information propagation on social networks, developing a semantic search engine, detecting non-verbal noises in audio files, using social networks to enable new learning models, and creating digital content for children on innovative devices.

The analysis finds inconsistencies across the models in their coverage of economies, time periods measured, and treatment of non-digital indicators.

‘Policy-making for digital development: the role of the government’ by Ismael...

2) Countries were grouped into 5 clusters representing different digital development stages: digital leaders, digital strivers, digital laggards, and digital leapfroggers.

This study analyzes the relationship between innovative human resource management systems (IHRMS), information technology use, and firm performance in Catalan firms in Spain. The researchers surveyed 1,518 firms and used statistical analysis to group HRM practices and identify factors that determine adoption of IHRMS. They found that about one-third of firms have adopted innovative systems involving practices like flexible compensation, training, skills development, and management competencies. Firms using IHRMS tended to be more international, innovative, quality-focused, and have new work organizations and advanced IT. Internationalization, industry sector, group membership, IT use, innovation networks, supplier internationalization, decentralization, and efficiency increased the likelihood of IHRMS adoption.

The lab focuses its research activities on two important areas of Information Technology, namely Software Engineering and Internet Technologies. In the first area, SEIT focuses on Cloud Computing, Service Oriented Architectures, Context-Aware Middleware Platforms and Smart and Mobile Computing for the development of pervasive, self-adaptive applications and Smart IoT services. In the second area, the Laboratory concentrates on the development of ICT-enabled Environments, platforms and tools for implementing Health monitoring and support services, Smart and Personalised services for Elders, Assistive Technologies for people with disabilities and Creativity services. The lab also pursues activities related to Technology Enhanced Learning, E-Business, E-Government and developing environments for elders' social inclusion, active ageing and independent living. Finally, the lab's research is also related to Creativity, Recommender Systems and Crowd Sourcing.

El 'Centro de Innovación y Desarrollo Tecnológico' (CIDT) 'País del Conocimiento' participó en la 5a convocatoria (5th wave of Living Labs) de la Red Europea de Living Labs, ENoLL, con el Proyecto Living Lab 'Antioquia, Departamento del Conocimiento' (incluido Medellín, como 'Ciudad Internacional del Conocimiento'), el cual fue seleccionado y certificado por ENoLL el día 22 de abril de 2011, lo cual hace que el Departamento de Antioquia se convierta en miembro de dicha red internacional, con el propósito de estructurar y poner en marcha 'Antioquia, Departamento del Conocimiento' mediante la creación de ecosistemas de Innovación Abierta y Colaborativa, compartiendo, co-diseñando, co-creando y experimentando buenas prácticas en networking con los mejores de Europa y otros paises que tienen proyectos certificados por ENoLL, los cuales apropian las TIC y la Ciencia, Tecnología e Innovación Abierta con la participación directa y amplia de los ciudadanos.
Somos un Centro de Innovación y Desarrollo Tecnológico (CIDT) registrado como tal en la Cámara de Comercio de Bogotá con NIT 900.311.105-4 y de acuerdo con la caracterización del Departamento Administrativo de Ciencia, Tecnología e Innovación, COLCIENCIAS (según la Resolución 688 de 2012 que define los requisitos y definiciones de los Centros de Investigación o Desarrollo Tecnológico, principalmente en su artículo primero sobre Definiciones, con su correspondiente parágrafo), donde está inscrito, y debidamente registrado en el lnstiluLAC en septiembre 13 de 2011, mediante la Convocatoria 538 para la Conformación del Banco de Elegibles de Fortalecimiento Institucional de Centros de Investigación y Desarrollo Tecnológico y de Parques de Ciencia y Tecnología.
