Introduction:
 In a democracy, casting a ballot is a citizen's social responsibility; regrettably,
antiquated voting patterns continue to plague us in the twenty-first century. Many
people choose not to vote because of lengthy lines, difficult commutes, and the
impression that one vote is nothing. We require something that can serve as the
foundation for an effective, safe, portable, and traceable voting system.
Fortunately, blockchain technology allows us to set up a voting system that can
upgrade voting as we see appropriate
Problem statement:
 There are several problems in Traditional Voting System which are given below.
 In the traditional voting system there is a lot of problems such as a lot of traffic on the roads as well as in
the polling system so due to these problems it is difficult to cast the vote and if the aged or disable person
want to cast the vote it is very difficult for him/her. Due to traffic and standing in the line at the polling
station. A lot of paper work is used in this system. Counting the votes may sometime incorrect due to
human error.
 Errors during data entry: Errors are part of all human beings it is very unlikely for humans to be 100
percent efficient in data entry
 Loss of registration forms:
Sometimes, registration forms get lost after being filled in with voters’ details, in most cases these are difficult
to follow-up and therefore many remain unregistered even though they are voting age nationals and interested
in exercising their right to vote.
Proposed Solution:
 We represent the electronic voting machine using fingerprint authentication and CNIC number as a solution to the
drawbacks of the traditional system.
 Using an electronic system in voting, counting votes and representing the results is much better in saving time,
effort and money. In addition, it matches the requirements in traditional voting process such as:
 The use of fingerprint authentication can increase the level of security and secrecy that no one can vote twice or
manipulate the results
 Fairness: No person can learn the voting outcomes before the tally.
  Eligibility: Only eligible voters are allowed to cast their vote.
  Uniqueness: No voter is allowed to cast their vote more than once.
  Privacy: No person can access the information about the voter’s vote.
  Accuracy: All the valid votes should be counted correctly.
  Efficiency: The counting of votes can be performed within a minimum amount of time
Elicitation Technique For Electronic Voting
System:
 There are two types of elicitation technique used in this project.
 Interview
 Survey
Why are using the two technique:
 Interview are used to comprehensive detail for the project.
 Survey are used to people response about the project
Diagram:
Why Take a Use Case Diagram
 We use Use-case diagram to gather the requirements of a system including actors,
internal and external influences.
Functional Requirement
 Authorize Actor:
This system is the starting point for any interaction with the information system.
It is a general use case specialized for organizers, i.e., "Authorize organizer" and
users i.e., "Authorize user"
 Manage Electors:
The fundamental assumption of this system uses cases that almost all citizens
above a certain age should be able to participate in the election procedure. It is
practically infeasible for election organizers to manually enter all electors into the
system. The system should thus be able to import an electronic list of electors
 Manage Parties:
This system is purely operational and is not directly linked to any business use
case of our voting model.
Continue……
 Manage Candidates: This system will manage the candidates participating for
the elections
 Preview Ballots: This use case provides the ability to anyone to preview the
electronic ballots for any election.
 Provide Party Info: This use case can be available either before the voting
procedure or during the actual voting.
 Cast Vote: This is a major use case because it is the base of our local E-voting
system and prevents the majority of the security issues.
 Tally Votes: This system use case deals with the final tally calculation
Non-Functional Requirement
 Performance Requirements
 Safety Requirements.
 Security Requirements.
 Software Quality Attributes
Features
 Registration
 Fingerprint or provide CNIC
 View parties
 View Candidates
 A fully-customizable platform
 Voter support
 Real-time dashboards and reporting
User Requirement.
 Easy & Simple to operate
 Quick Response
 Effectively handling operational errors
 Customer support
Limitation/Constraint
 Although it takes the time to count votes that were captured using paper ballot but
people fully trust the process as high technology are also vulnerable to hackers
attack.
 Most of the electronic voting machines used in the country were foreign
manufactured, which means the secret codes that control the electronic voting
machines are in foreign hands and they can be used to influence the election
results.
 The biggest change with technology is that no matter how much data it records
but a single virus can destroy the entire data storage. The electronic voting
machines which were used during the elections are susceptible to damage which
will result in loss of data.
Continue…..
 Fake display units could be installed in the electronic voting machines which
would show manipulated numbers but originally fake votes could be generated
from the back end. This process does not need any hacker to hack the software.
Such fake display units are easily available in the market.
 Most of the electronic voting machines used in the country do not have any
mechanism by which the voter can verify their identity before casting the vote due
to which fake voters can cast numerous fake votes
List of Five Risks
 Human factor issues
 Optical scan system
 Accuracy of voting system
 Vulnerability issues/Hacking
 Budget Risks
Conclusion
 We introduce the fingerprint authentication and CNIC number-based electronic
voting machine as a solution to the shortcomings of the usual system. First of all,
it is much preferable to save time, effort, and money by employing an electronic
method for voting, tallying votes, and showing results. Additionally, it meets the
criteria for the ordinary voting process, including: Fairness: No one is permitted to
learn the results of a vote before it is counted. Only those who are qualified to
vote may cast a ballot. Uniqueness: Voters may only use one ballot per election.
Privacy: No one else has access to the data on a voter's ballot. Accuracy: All
legally submitted ballots must be accurately counted. Efficiency: Vote counting
can be completed in the shortest amount of time possible.
