This document contains survey results from students in two sections of a math course for elementary teachers at Purdue University. Section 001 had 15 responses and Section 002 had 9 responses. The survey included questions about demographics, ratings of the course and instructor, and open-ended questions for comments. For Section 001, students mostly agreed that the textbook and instructor were clear. For improvements, some suggested providing more practice examples. For Section 002, no significant issues or recommendations were noted.

I loved being able to review old exams. Ben is very helpful and open. He makes going to a 7:30 math class
enjoyable. He is also very flexible and understanding.
­ The instructor is very personable. He allows an open environment for questions and comments.
­
Ben was really great about exams­ always open to having review sessions and answering all questions which
helped me to be very prepared. This is why I feel I did well in the class. He was always able to answer
questions.
­
I enjoyed the way my instructor connected class material to real life classroom situations. If material needed
to be covered again he would do that, which was also very helpful. He never rushed through material and
never left us unprepared for quizzes or exams. I enjoyed having Ben as an instructor.
­
You are a great instructor and I really enjoyed taking your class. Your teaching style and methods worked
very nice in our classroom. I was very comfortable in your class and the atmosphere was very open and
supportive.
­
Ben is an awesome teacher. My only complaint about this course is that the textbook was not clear at all. It
was very hard to find any help in the book. I'd suggest investing in a new textbook! Other than that, Ben is an
awesome TA! He was always very helpful and made my favorite subject, math, more interesting to learn!
­
I really liked the hands on activities that we could do in the classroom as future teachers. Keep doing those for
the future classes that you teach.

­ There could be more help with understanding what the homework asked of us to do.
­
I think the class is run smoothly and cannot think of any changes, other than a possible review exam for the
final.
­
One suggestion would be to provide multiple example problems, when explaining a lesson. Examples and
problems that are relate able to our homework's because sometimes I felt the classwork and homework
problems did not "match".
­ Try having help sessions for the harder homework.
