HELP! IT’S THE ÊTRE VERBS!
Thomas C
To the rescue!
 Until the evil Mrs Van De Tramp released 13
être verbs, and caused chaos across the globe!
 The first was a zombie
called ‘Immortal
Mort’. Because he was
dumb, he went round
in circles forever.
 The second was
‘Resting Resté’. He
went on strike, and just
sat waiting for
something exciting to
happen. It never came.
 The third was ‘Snotty
Sorti’. Ever since he
first walked out of a
door, he never went
back in again. This led
to a huge cold.
 The fourth was
‘Unavailable Venu’.
She comes but never
arrives to anything.
 The fifth was
‘Amazing Allé’. He
was the most quickest,
the most handsome,
and the most
unobservant criminal
there was.
 The sixth was ‘New
Né’. She was obviously
too old to fight.
 The seventh was
‘Descending
Descendu’. He was
stuck descending
stairs he’d been going
down for his whole
life.
 The eighth was
‘Never-ending Entré’.
Whatever door she
went in, she had to go
through another door.
 The ninth was ‘Tired
Tombé’. He lived in
midair, fell for all
eternity, and never
slept. Unfortunately his
falling spot was above
Mount Etna. Oh dear!
 The tenth was ‘Return
of the Retourné. If you
meet him, you’re dead.
 The eleventh was
‘Angry Arrivé’. Once he
returned, he could never
leave, which made him
furious!
 The twelfth was
‘Mountaineering
Monté’. He tried to get in
by climbing the walls. He’s
still doing that as we
speak.
 The thirteenth was ‘Love-
to-party Parti’. He was
attending his 670th party.
 Nothing. ‘Amazing
Allé’ was easily shot,
‘Return of the Retourné’
got the plague, ‘Angry
Arrivé’ was quickly
arrested, and the rest
didn’t turn up to the
battlefield.
 Mrs Van De Tramp was
then arrested, and was
sentenced to prison for as
long as ‘Immortal Mort’
shall live.
