10                     Attending Physician StatementWe believe there are many Excellent APS providers in our Industry and the method is the same today as it was years ago except for how the transfer of the data is handled back and forth.We as an insurance community are at the mercy of medical facilities and doctors. There have been many different approaches to obtaining APS’s over the years but it is still difficult.There are beliefs that one provider has better service over another provider – this may be true based on organizational structure, delivery systems, how fast you process the request and with or without a check etc.However, we simply don’t think that at the end of the day when you look at the whole picture you are satisfied with the current process regardless of who the provider is and its costing you a lot of time and money and perhaps loss of business.We are not claiming we are faster or even better – but we are organized and experienced – you have to be the judge.  We feel we can offer you -- one important difference in the APS situation -- cost savings and built in auditing of the APS process. Historical:The story starts in 1967 with Tom Gracey – Tom was a medic in the military and after returning home from his tour in Southeast Asia  he joined Mutual/United of Omaha Insurance Company in Omaha, Nebraska.  He worked in the policy owner service department at Mutual for years while he attended college at night and in 1974 he earned his undergraduate degree in Business. Where we are today starts at that point.Tom went on to become an Underwriter at several  insurance companies and became one of the youngest Vice President’s of Underwriting in the country at that time. During this period of underwriting he also earned  Master degrees in Management and Human Relations. He was an adjunct faculty member at several colleges teaching weekends and evenings – thus creating an intense desire for training and education for all the future employees to come. He took a 6 month sabbatical from the insurance industry to become an Academic Dean of one of the largest business colleges in the Mid-West.During these years as head of underwriting and administration for several insurance companies Tom pioneered the telephone interview concept in the Insurance Industry along with other creative underwriting concepts.During these years – Carla Brown joined Tom as his trusted manager. While working in Kansas, Tom was asked to be a founding Executive to start an Insurance Company from scratch in Omaha, Nebraska by one of the largest insurance companies in the USA at the time -- he didn’t hesitate to get back to his roots in Omaha. It wasn’t long before Tom asked Carla to move her family from Kansas to Omaha to be the underwriting administration head of operations for the new insurance company.The desire to create new concepts and alternatives for the insurance industry started way back in 1967 and the intense desire to be an entrepreneur was becoming an overwhelming focus in Tom’s life once the insurance company was up and running and successful. Tom left to start an Underwriting and Insurance Services Company. It wasn’t long after starting the company that Carla and Tom’s two sons, Scott and Chad, joined the company.Tom, Carla, Scott and Chad built together along with fantastic and faithful clients plus numerous trusted, valued, loyal, and gifted employees one of the largest underwriting/insurance services outsourcing companies in America .In 2004 after almost 20 years of operations we sold our company.In 2007 – ESP was founded to provide high quality, integrity based, fair priced products with creative professional alternatives for the insurance industry.
