Students from around the world joined together to recreate one of the most beautiful science experiments of all time: Eratosthenes' measurement of the Earth's circumference from over 2000 years ago. Using simple methods similar to Eratosthenes, the students measured the difference in shadows at different locations on the same day to calculate the circumference of the Earth.
