Ron receives a letter inviting him to participate in a dangerous bike race called the X-race, where aliens plan to chase and eat the human participants. Ron practices bike skills to prepare. On the day of the race, the aliens chase Ron, but his friend Victor helps him escape after Ron falls. They observe the ugly alien features up close. Victor apologizes for not initially helping Ron, and they remain friends after the ordeal. Ron and Victor go on to fame and fortune by selling Ron's bike safety book.

1. Ron, the Aliens and the X-race
One day boy named Ronald (but
everyone calls him Ron) was entering
a bike race. But he didn’t know he
would be racing for his life. It all
started one day when Ron got a
letter saying he could participate in a
bike X-race. Ron has chocolate
coloured skin, hair as black as ebony
wood and with seaweed green eyes.
After Ron got the letter he saw
another piece of writing. It said
‘Hello. At the race we will catch you
and eat you on our bikes. Unless you
avoid all the hazards and avoid us.’
Ron saw that it said by the Aliens.
Ron’s heart was pumping he was
sweating like crazy. He screamed
“Why are aliens so horrible?”

2. Ron jumped on his bike and
went up hills avoiding cars,
bumps, and glass. He
practiced all day until he
fell in a pot hole. He
walked every day until he
had another accident
‘crasssshhh’ Ronald was
focused on riding he
missed school.

3. Ron made sure he was safe, he oiled his bike.
Make sure his brakes work ‘squeak, squeak’.
Checked the tire pressure, made sure the
headlights work and he biked so fast he got a free
face lift.

4. Ron thought ‘hey maybe if I don’t go to the race they won’t come after
me. Hah!’ But just then Ron got some more mail saying “If you don’t
go to the race we’ll kill you and eat all your family and friends!” So
after that Ron was in a whole other universe.

5. Ron had some spare time to himself. So
he made a little handbook on bike riding.
1. Oil your bike regularly.
2. Wear a helmet.
3. Pump up your tyres.
4. Make sure your head light works.
5. Adjust your bike if you grow taller.
6. Know where you’re going.
7. Test your skills
8. If aliens try and get you; practice.
Ron couldn’t think of a ninth tip.

6. Ron had a friend called
Victor who was in the
X-race as well. So Ron
called Victor and said
“Chur, so you know how
you were in the X-race.”
Victor said “Yeah”
“Well these aliens are
gonna get me and eat
me if I don’t dodge
them in the X-race. Can
you help me?”
“No bro you’re on your
own” Said Victor.

7. Finally it was the day of the X-race
and Ron was petrified. Ron saw the
start line so he got ready. The loud
speaker went “10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3,
2, 1 GO!”

8. Ron biked in front of the bikes swerved round a corner. Up a hill, down a hill
and into the redwoods. Ron looked back and saw aliens on his tail. He quit
the track and went on the road. He biked all the way to the jump. Ron said
to himself ‘I hope my practice pays off’.

9. SPLAT! It didn’t. He fell on the road. The
aliens came up and swallowed Ron with
one gulp.

10. Victor, feeling sad
about abandoning his
friend came after the
aliens on his bike. He
ran into the aliens.
Ron shot out. POP!
And he was out. Ron
said “I’ve found my
ninth tip. Never stop
on the road!”

11. Finally Ron and Victor “Aliens are so ugly” said
could look at the aliens Victor, “I’m really sorry I
properly. They had snot bailed on you. I understand if
green skin, razor sharp you don’t want to be my
teeth. Three big long friend.”
