Erebus was the primordial god of darkness born from Chaos. He represented deep blackness and shadow. Erebus married his sister Nyx, goddess of night, and they had many offspring including Hemera, Aether, and Hypnos. As the god of darkness, Erebus watched over the underworld and helped care for the dead. Little is visually described about Erebus' appearance, but he was an important figure in Greek mythology associated with Hades and representing the darkness of the underworld.
