Muneera Abdulla is a Kuwaiti woman who was trapped in a vegetative state for 23 years after suffering brain damage from lack of oxygen during childbirth. Her family kept her alive through feeding tubes and round-the-clock care. In 2019, the Kuwaiti court ruled that her life support could be withdrawn after determining that continuing treatment was futile and that she would not have wanted to be kept alive in her current condition.
