Why Does Effective
Communication Matter?
 We use communication skills everyday
 If the listener(s) can’t under understand the
language, the message is lost.
 Communication is the only way to get
something done through another person
 It saves the writer and the reader time
 Prevents the audience from being hurt by
offensive language
Why Is Professional Writing
Important in Business?

My Testimony
I have seen major improvements in my
writing skills over the past few months. For
example, my emails to friends, employers and
professors have become much easier to write.
My resume is now much stronger. My own
personal language has become more clear
and I use less filler words. The internship fair
at FGCU was much easier to attend this year
because I was confident in my writing ability.
Lastly, it only takes me half as much time to
write messages. Thank you Sheila!
