Service It’s not just about writing checks… 2008 Goals: Big Brother / Big Sister Program Regular Tutoring at a Chicago Public School Toy/Clothing Drive during the holidays
Fundraising Finding fun and unique ways to make a difference 2008 Goals Continue to develop and plan unique events Drive enough activity to fund a project between $5000 - $10,000 by the end of 2008 Some Ideas: Cooking Classes Documentary - “Divided we Fall” Large banquet
Projects Changing the World… 2008 Goals Develop Project Team (100% volunteer based, would meet once a month maximum Find and Fund one project between $5000 - $10,000 in South Asia, that is focused on either  Poverty eradication Literacy Public Health Project Methodology Utilize the knowledge and passion of youth that are currently involved with NGOs to propose projects  Project team to evaluate and determine “best fit” in terms of Ekya’s mission.
Overview of Next Steps 13 Ekya will have open meetings every month for 30 minutes after every Leadership Series Speaker Projects Fundraising Service Develop volunteer base to help develop, organize and run events. Form project team to evaluate, choose and fund projects Connect with other Service Groups to provide Chicagoland service opportunities
