昔むかし、社会の主役は家庭でした。
Long long time ago, families consist society.

家庭で子供たちは生まれ、育ちました。
Younger generation were born and raised in families.

そして、老いた家族は家庭で息を引き取りました。
And that’s where older generations breathed their last.

家族が増える時も、減る時も、それは家庭の営みの一部でした。
Families expanded, and shrank, as they were supposed to be…

いつからか、生活の質が上がり、人々はしあわせになりました。
Not so long ago people wanted the “Quality of Life”.

お金で買えるしあわせのために、たくさん働きました。
Money could bring us happiness… It realty did.

「仕事」を通してお金だけでなく、「自己実現」をも手に入れたのです。
It also made us fulfilled and richer

やりたい仕事をベースに自分のライフスタイルを組み立てられるようになりました。
And we hoped to make an ideal lifestyle, including how our family would be like.

いえ、仕事にライフスタイルを左右されることに抵抗がなくなりました。
But… now “work” behaves like your boss, even in your family.

「仕事」なので、お父さんは夕食を子供とは食べません。
なぜなら子供の食事の時間は、みんなが会社で働いている時間だからです。
Daddy never shows up for family dinner because he has to work.

お母さんは保護者会にも来ないし、学校で子供がどうしているのかに興味がありません。
Mommy will never know how her kids really feel about their teacher and friends.

だって、仕事があって無理だし…子供は保育園と学校が育ててくれるから。
Because she has no time to mind such things, and she believes school is the responsible one.

問題があれば検索しますよ。
If any problem arises, she’d Google and dig it.

「仕事」を理由に「家族」に迷惑をかけてもいいのに、
「家族」を理由にして「仕事」をおろそかになるのはいけないことなのです。
“Work” can sneak in your family but your family can never interfere the work.

だって、家庭の事情はどうあれ、「仕事」に迷惑をかける人は社会の未熟者なんです。
And they call those family-based people “Free Riders of the Economy”
because they are not productive.

あなたの価値を決めるのは家族じゃなくて、社会なんですよ。
Like it or not… Work in basically your and your whole family’s boss.
How productive your are is directly how you are needed in the society.

妊娠中は生産性が下がるし、子育て中は仕事にそんなに時間が使えないじゃない？
If you are pregnant, you can’t work like normal people, and also when you are raising a baby!

介護があったら「普通の人」みたいには働けないじゃない？
If you have to take care of your parents, you can’t work like normal people

そういう人って邪魔なんですよね。あなたも、あなたの家族も。
Then you, or your family, are simply disturbing

「仕事」って敵だったの？
So the whole thing went wrong due to “work” and the society?

自分を社会の邪魔者にする「育児」や「介護」の当事者になんかなりたくない

だからもう家庭には命の輪廻が見えなくなった。
So family is no longer the place people are born and gone

「こんなに能力があるのに社会の邪魔者にされたくない…」

罪悪感がないと言えば嘘になる・・・家庭にも仕事にも
Then we started to feel guilty and obligated to family and society.

じゃあ、どうしたらみんながしあわせになれるの？
