Effective study skills

Nowadays
People
,in
different
aspects
of
life,
try
to
find
easy
and
simple
ways
to

improve
their
performance
in
order
to
achieve
accomplishment.
Employees
try
to
find
great

ways
"to
make
ends
meet"
and
earn
more
money,
companies
and
firms
create
creative
ways

to
make
more
economic
profits
,
and
instructors
look
for
great
ways
to
help
learners
to

successed
in
school.
What
about
students,
either
younger
or
adults,
have
they
ever
thought

about
some
great,
creative
and
simple
ways
to
study
effectively
and
achieve
their
academic

success
?
have
they
tried
some
useful
study
skills
when
they
read
and
review
their
textbook

in
order
to
perform
well
in
their
exams?
How
they
can
understand
and
remember
all
the

information,
ideas
and
content
of
their
textbooks?

Before
students
read
the
whole
chapter
in
their
books,
they
should
first

read
in
"Layers"
which
means
to
read
the
first
sentence
of
each
paragraph
because
it's
the

topic
sentence
that
represents
the
main
idea
in
the
text,
then
trying
to
read
any
word,

sentence
and
expression
with
a
bold
print
which
are
clear
and
easy
to
find
them,and
they're

usually
key
words
that
the
author
uses
to
attract
the
reader's
attention
to
a
particular

definition,idea,conception
which
is
so
important
.
Moreover,reading
Summaries
in
the

textbooks
is
very
useful
because
they
give
students
a
general
overview
about
what
they're

studying,
discovering
the
main
ideas
and
the
developing
ones,
or
they
can
just
write
their

own
summaries
by
using
"Reducing"
strategy
which
means
to
take
something
from
the

textbook,
shrink
it
down
and
write
it
in
their
own
words,it's
very
beneficial
because
it
saves

time
in
review's
session,
instead
of
reading
long
sentences,students
could
just
review

shorter
ones
that
they
have
written
on
their
own.

Another
study
strategy
that
saves
students'
time
is"highlighting",where
they

use
a
highlighter
pen
to
mark
specific
words
and
expressions
in
a
text
in
bright

colors,
instead
of
going
back
and
reading
the
whole
chapter
or
paragraph,
they
have
just
to

read
what
they've
already
highlighted,but
they
should
only
highlight
important
key
words

which
can
be
joined
together
as
a
chain
to
form
new
full
sentences
that
could
help
them
to

remember
content
of

their
textbook.
Also,
Outlining
is
an
effective
study
technique,

it

organizes
the
information
in
a
highly‐structured

and
logical
manner,
forming

a
skeleton
of

the
textbook
chapter
or
a
lecture
subject
that
serves
as
an
excellent
study
guide
when

preparing
for
tests
and
exams
because
it
shows
students
the
connection
and
relationship

between
different
materials
and
terms
in
a
particular
textbook,which
makes
studying
more

easier
and
well‐organized.

In
order
to
keep
track
of
their
performance
when
they're
studying,
students

could
use
EITHER
"2.1.0"
method
which
many
people
don't
know
about
it,
where
a
student

should
read
two
pages
in
a
textbook
carefully,
then
he
closes
his
eyes
and
try
to

remember
most
of
the
details
in
this
chapter,
after
that
he
gives
himself"2"
if
he
answers

well
and
"1"
if
it's
average,
but
"0"
if
he
didn't
well,
OR
"white
out"
words

by
taking
out
the

keywords
from
a
summary
or
a
paragraph,
then
trying
to
remember
words
in
order
to
fill

the
blanks,
he
could
fail
many
times
before
he
achieves
success.It's
useful
because
it

encourages
students
and
build
their
confidence,
being
less
stressed
and
feel
hopeful
before

taking
the
exam.

But,
we
have
to
take
into
consideration
that
people
are
different,

they
have

different
capacities
and
different
learning
styles.
Some
students
could
read
in
layers,
others

remember
through
captions
and
pictures,
without
even
using
a
highlighter.So,
everyone

should
find
a
suitable
way
of
studying
that
correspond
to
his
needs,
interests
and
capacities

in
order
to
perform
well
and
achieve
success.
