The EFF callson PresidentRamaphosa totake leave of absence while the PublicProtector’sreportis
subjectedtoa court review.He isconflictedandmustbe on leave until hisname iscleared.Nositting
presidentshouldbe indirectconflictwithaChapternine constitutional office forthingshe isguiltyof.
His PressConference,whichsoughttorecoverlostintegrityground,was30 minutesof blowinghotair
withoutanythingconcrete.A manelectedonthe ticketof transparencyshouldhave revealedwho
fundedhiscampaigntobecome Presidentof ANCandacceptthe mistakesof havingnotdeclaredall this
moneyas itis requiredbylaw.Thisisespeciallybecausehe doesnotdenythatmoneywasraisedinhis
name and forhim.Evenhe donatedover30 milliontothe activitiesof campaign forANCpresident,and
addressesfundraisingeventstothateffect.
The essential pointthereforeis,he didnotdeclare thismoneytoeitherparliamentorhisprincipal then.
Thisis inviolationof the lawandthe constitutionof the Republic.
We call on the NPA,parliamentandHawkstoimplementthe remedial actionof the PublicProtectoron
Ramaphosa.Placingthe reportundera court review doesnotsuspendthe implementationof the
remedial actionof the PP.The Hawksmust investigatemoneylaunderinginrelationtothe CR17
campaign;the suspicionof a crime isgroundsenoughtoinvestigate suchacrime.
The country has hadenoughof presidentswhodisrespectourconstitutionandlaws.Ramaphosahas
justproven,barelytwomonthsintooffice,thathe hasno interestinupholdingthe constitutionandthe
law.He musttake a leave absence andallow otherswithintegritytoleadthe country.
