Edenton Cotton Mill Village offers two houses for creative individuals to join a historically rich and scenic community. Originally thriving in the early 1900s, the area was revitalized after being donated to Preservation North Carolina in 1996, transforming into a showcase for sustainable living. The village is located near downtown Edenton and has received national acclaim, including recognition as a top cottage community in the U.S.

This colonial capital is home to three centuries of fine architecture, including National Historic Landmarks like the Cupola House (1750) and Chowan County Courthouse (1767). It has been designated a National Trust Distinctive Destination (2003) and a charter Preserve America community by the White House (2005).

In 1996, Unifi Inc. donated the entire site to PNC. Since then it has gone from a nearly vacant, endangered neighborhood to a showcase for sustainable and authentic living. It is a close community of modest-scale homes and loft-style condos in the former cotton mill building. Residents can stroll three blocks to local shops, restaurants, parks and the stunning Edenton Bay, with its calm waters and cypress knees.
