Transport and Food next – the other two big issues.
We have a radical ‘not for dividend’ business model,
and we’re focused on bringing about a Green Britain.”
Dale Vince OBE – Founder

5. Green Britain Principles
Our principle areas of focus are
Energy Transport and Food
A Green Britain is about using less, re-using more and
making whatever you do use more sustainable, across
the three areas of Energy, Transport and Food.
Tackling these will solve 80% of the problem.

19. What does our Green Britain look like?
• Renewable energy powers 80% of our country
and renewables dominate the mix power
• More than 2 million people work in the green
economy
• R&D partnerships between government,
industry and universities have made Britain a
world leader in wind and marine renewable
technologies.
• There are no coal-fired power stations
• Subsidies for fossil fuels are phased out
• We said no to fracking
20. What does our Green Britain look like?
• Every new car on the road is electric (or a
hybrid) and the rail network is electrified
• The UK has a Minister for Carbon and an annual
carbon budget
• A ‘Cow Tax’, on meat and imported dairy to
account for its true environmental impact
• A National Smart Grid which ‘talks’ back to
suppliers allowing households to both buy from
and sell to the grid from their own generation,
contributing to Britain’s sustainable supply, as
well as shrinking bills.
• The dumping of recyclable goods in
landfill is banned
21. How we’re going to get there
The key policy steps on how we’re going to get there are:
• Creating a Minister for Cabon to set carbon limits
across all sectors of the economy
• Ensuring Britain’s power generation is 80% renewable
by 2030 – saving £11.7bn in fossil fuel costs
• Implementing ‘Quantitative Greening’ - deploying
quantitative easing by the Bank of England directly into
the renewables sectors
• Ending fossil fuel subsidies – all government support
for fossil fuels cut off by 2025
• Increasing support for electric cars – including
scrapping VAT, helping to ensure all new cars are
electric by 2030

23. What Does Our Kind of Person Look Like?
I want to change the world – nothing less.
What we are achieving together is exciting. It’s massive. We’re an unconventional,
massively ambitious business, ambitious for change. Things don’t have to be done
in the same way, just the best way. But we’re all individuals, so how can I describe
what ‘our kind of person’ is?
It’s the stuff we have in common that makes someone ‘our kind of person’ and
working together, such an enjoyable trip....
So what are the things we have in common?
We are committed to what we do We are energetic, enthusiastic and passionate
about what we do. We believe in our work and have fun doing it
.
24. What Does Our Kind of Person Look Like?
(contd)
We strive to be open, fair and ethical We make sure things are done the right way.
We are team players We are all individuals who work together to make things
better and get stuff done.
We never rest on our laurels We aren’t set in our ways. We constructively
challenge ourselves and each other. We continually reappraise what we hold to be
true as the background and circumstances change (stuff changes and we need to
keep changing too).
We treat other people with respect.... and you can’t go far wrong with that
Thanks for helping me to change the world
25. We do everything possible to
equip our staff towards being
productive and feeling valued
26. We like to reward our staff – with
Eco Hero Awards
30. In summary….
We just look at thing differently, we
keep our Green Britain mission at the
top of our minds - and find people
like the way we do things…
