In a flashback, the author recalls how they once thought they would never be able to join crowds and escape their pains and sorrows, feeling they would always stand apart. When opportunities arose to shed their masks of terror, they closed their eyes and turned back, too accustomed to their "state of echoing bliss" within the screeching memories in their head. Over time, their pain was slowly absorbed without them realizing as they sat deluded into thinking they still held onto it, and time ultimately lifted them high and took them far.
