Product Design Trends in 2024 | Teenage EngineeringsPixeldarts
The realm of product design is a constantly changing environment where technology and style intersect. Every year introduces fresh challenges and exciting trends that mold the future of this captivating art form. In this piece, we delve into the significant trends set to influence the look and functionality of product design in the year 2024.
How Race, Age and Gender Shape Attitudes Towards Mental HealthThinkNow
Mental health has been in the news quite a bit lately. Dozens of U.S. states are currently suing Meta for contributing to the youth mental health crisis by inserting addictive features into their products, while the U.S. Surgeon General is touring the nation to bring awareness to the growing epidemic of loneliness and isolation. The country has endured periods of low national morale, such as in the 1970s when high inflation and the energy crisis worsened public sentiment following the Vietnam War. The current mood, however, feels different. Gallup recently reported that national mental health is at an all-time low, with few bright spots to lift spirits.
To better understand how Americans are feeling and their attitudes towards mental health in general, ThinkNow conducted a nationally representative quantitative survey of 1,500 respondents and found some interesting differences among ethnic, age and gender groups.
Technology
For example, 52% agree that technology and social media have a negative impact on mental health, but when broken out by race, 61% of Whites felt technology had a negative effect, and only 48% of Hispanics thought it did.
While technology has helped us keep in touch with friends and family in faraway places, it appears to have degraded our ability to connect in person. Staying connected online is a double-edged sword since the same news feed that brings us pictures of the grandkids and fluffy kittens also feeds us news about the wars in Israel and Ukraine, the dysfunction in Washington, the latest mass shooting and the climate crisis.
Hispanics may have a built-in defense against the isolation technology breeds, owing to their large, multigenerational households, strong social support systems, and tendency to use social media to stay connected with relatives abroad.
Age and Gender
When asked how individuals rate their mental health, men rate it higher than women by 11 percentage points, and Baby Boomers rank it highest at 83%, saying it’s good or excellent vs. 57% of Gen Z saying the same.
Gen Z spends the most amount of time on social media, so the notion that social media negatively affects mental health appears to be correlated. Unfortunately, Gen Z is also the generation that’s least comfortable discussing mental health concerns with healthcare professionals. Only 40% of them state they’re comfortable discussing their issues with a professional compared to 60% of Millennials and 65% of Boomers.
Race Affects Attitudes
As seen in previous research conducted by ThinkNow, Asian Americans lag other groups when it comes to awareness of mental health issues. Twenty-four percent of Asian Americans believe that having a mental health issue is a sign of weakness compared to the 16% average for all groups. Asians are also considerably less likely to be aware of mental health services in their communities (42% vs. 55%) and most likely to seek out information on social media (51% vs. 35%).

Acompanhe!
Introdução
4. Projeto interdisciplinar e engajamento no Ensino Médio 4
A interdisciplinaridade
no Ensino Médio
5. Projeto interdisciplinar e engajamento no Ensino Médio 5
Outro bom exemplo é unir linguagem artística com história. O
As abordagens integradoras favorecem a participação
jovem precisa desenvolver habilidades socioemocionais,
6. Projeto interdisciplinar e engajamento no Ensino Médio 6
Acompanhe as nossas três dicas
fundamentais para aplicar a interdisciplinaridade
e o engajamento no Ensino Médio, tanto no ensino
presencial, como no remoto ou no híbrido.
Primeiros passos
7. Projeto interdisciplinar e engajamento no Ensino Médio 7
1. Escolha o parceiro certo
8. Projeto interdisciplinar e engajamento no Ensino Médio 8
2. Escolha um tema
Depois de organizar os professores, é
o momento de definir o tema central
do projeto interdisciplinar. O tema
pode fazer com que os estudantes
se sintam pertencentes a algo maior,
isso incentiva a sua colaboração
e engajamento nas atividades
propostas.
Converse com a sua equipe e com
os próprios estudantes no momento
de definir o tema, descubra quais
são os interesses deles. Assim, eles
se sentirão valorizados e engajados
na proposta.
Além disso, leve em consideração as
possibilidades de aprendizado que
cada conteúdo tem para oferecer
no tema escolhido e opte por
abordar assuntos relevantes dentro
do contexto atual e que estejam em
consonância com a realidade da
comunidade escolar.
9. Projeto interdisciplinar e engajamento no Ensino Médio 9
Projeto interdisciplinar e engajamento no Ensino Médio 9
interdisciplinaridade
no Ensino Médio deve
estar em conformidade
com o Projeto Político
Pedagógico (PPP) da
escola. Ter isso em
mente é importante para
alinhar expectativas de
alunos, pais, professores
e gestores.
• Projeto temático de terremotos.
• Interdisciplinaridade: Matemática e Geografia.
• Atividades: sugerir
o estudo das causas
dos abalos sísmicos na
disciplina de Geografia
e aprender a calcular a
intensidade do fenômeno,
isto é, a Escala Richter,
10. Projeto interdisciplinar e engajamento no Ensino Médio 10
10
Desafios da
interdisciplinaridade
11. Projeto interdisciplinar e engajamento no Ensino Médio 11
11
Ele quer
- e precisa - ser visto enquanto indivíduo e
não sob a máscara homogênea de apenas
mais um aluno.
Dessa maneira, os projetos interdisciplinares
podemserferramentaspormeiodasquaiso
adolescente consegue se expressar dentro
da escola, pois o coloca como agente
participante de decisões e protagonista
da construção do conhecimento.
12. Projeto interdisciplinar e engajamento no Ensino Médio 12
Assim,
é mais fácil entender a realidade e as
experiências que fazem parte da vida
desses jovens. Além de trazer os benefícios
da gestão democrática para a escola.
13. Projeto interdisciplinar e engajamento no Ensino Médio 13
5 atividades
criativas para o Enem
Agora que citamos exemplos de
projetos interdisciplinares para você
trabalhar com os estudantes do Ensino
Médio na sua escola, vamos abordar
atividades que trabalham diretamente
as habilidades exigidas na prova do
Enem.
Portanto, tome nota dessas cinco
atividades criativas e
interdisciplinares:
14. Projeto interdisciplinar e engajamento no Ensino Médio 14
• Proposta: estudar aspectos
econômicos de diferentes países.
• Interdisciplinaridade: Sociologia,
Geografia e História.
• Prática: pedir para os alunos
compararem mapas do continente
americanoaolongodosséculosXIX
e XX. Depois, trabalhar questões
relacionadas a mudanças nas
fronteiras e ao crescimento
econômico.
Atividade 1
ajudar nesse processo.
Atividade 2
15. Projeto interdisciplinar e engajamento no Ensino Médio 15
• Proposta: estudar fatos históricos por
meio dos textos literários.
• Interdisciplinaridade: Literatura e
História.
• Prática: solicitar que os alunos escolham
um livro - dentre uma lista já pré-
selecionada pelo professor, com ajuda
dos próprios estudantes - e propor
uma análise do ponto de vista político
e econômico da época em que foram
escritos. Assim, os estudantes podem
verificar como o cenário de um período
afeta as produções culturais.
Atividade 3
Atividade 4
Projeto interdisciplinar e engajamento no Ensino Médio 15
16. 16
Na verdade, qualquer uma das
atividades citadas podem,
diretamente ou indiretamente, auxiliar
o adolescente a pensar no seu Projeto
de Vida, ou seja, refletir como eles
contribuem na sua formação como
cidadão, para além da sala de aula.
• Proposta: estudar a previdência social no Brasil.
• Interdisciplinaridade: Matemática, Geografia e
Biologia.
• Prática: discutir a questão do financiamento

digitais funcionem!

estiverem no modelo remoto. Para tal,
você pode propor atividades utilizando
cooperação em games, ações usando
as redes sociais ou salas virtuais que
os dividam em grupos menores.
Isso porque, o vínculo com os colegas
é bem importante para manter a
motivação dos adolescentes com os
estudos.
