Easy Way to Add Value to Your House
If you think you’ll be selling your house in the next year or so, here are
some ways you can add value to your home.
1) Yard makeover
This can be extremely detailed or
simple; your choice. Simple things
like adding ornamental shrubs take
less than half a day. You can even
add a couple of fruit trees pretty
cheaply. The front yards if the first
thing a prospective buyer is going to
see. You only get one chance to
make a first impression.
2) HVAC/Furnace replacement

expected life, it’s a smart idea. Rebates can cut the cost. If a buyer is

4) Check the plumbing

tearing out sheet rock or paneling. PEX has greatly reduced the cost of
replacing plumbing in the house.
5) No popcorn
Popcorn ceilings were once the thing to have. Age makes them the thing to
not have. The DIY Network has a primer on how you can easily and safely
remove popcorn ceilings. If it has already started falling down, well, it’s
definitely time to get rid of it.
