2. What are they?
• An "Easter Egg" is a term used within Tv and film production
which reference hidden messages that cteate recognizable
links for the audience to pick up on. A prime example of this is
the 'Disney Dimension' , this is where Disney incorporate
easter eggs in order to add to the realism. Doing this allows
all the corresponding film to be convergent and interlinked
with each other. Also, having these hidden easter eggs in the
films creates a sense of achievement for those observant
fans, adding to the film experience itself.
3. Examples -
• Within the 2002 'Lilo and Stitch' Easter eggs are used
throughout the film. Including the stuffed animal teddy
of 'Dumbo', featured in the background of Lilo's room as
she looks at her window. The toy includes fine details
that confirm it is based off the 1941 original film
'Dumbo'.
• Another Easter egg that features in 'Lilo and Stitch', is
the tapestry that looks to be hung on the wall
of Nani (Lilo's older sister) room. The tapestry consists
of an almost promotional looking poster of the 1998
version of 'Mulan'. The poster connotes with Nani's
character as both are strong-willed, independent
women; possible inferring that she took inspiration from
her supposed favorite Disney character.
4. More Examples:
• The Simpsons are notorious
for the amount of easter eggs
they included within their
episodes, here are some
examples:
