3. EARTH is the only planet in the solar system
capable of SUPPORTING LIFE. Complex and
brilliant combination of gases, composition
and structure of earth are some of the reasons
why it can sustain life
EARTH is a very complex place. The earth
consists of four (4) yet connected spheres. All
of the processes on earth are driven by four (4)
“spheres”, which we describe individually, but
are really all connected.
7. It describes all the rocks,
minerals and ground that are
found on and in Earth.
Basically, if it looks like solid
ground, it is part of the ground
sphere.
9. It refers to all the bodies of
water on earth, solid or liquid.
Over 70% of the Earth’s surface
was covered by water.
10.
11. It covers more than 70% of
the Earth’s surface and
contains 97% of the Earth’s
water.
It regulates global
temperature, shapes weather,
and climate patterns, and
cycles elements through the
biosphere
12.
13. It is a volume of fresh water
across the surface of the land
usually to the sea.
Rivers flow in channels.
14. A reservoir of relatively still
water that is surrounded by
land.
It is formed from the
accumulation of large amounts
of water in natural or artificial
depressions on the surface of
the land.
15. It is a type of water that was
commonly found underground,
in the cracks and spaces on the
ground.
Groundwater supplies
drinking water and is used for
irrigation to grow crops.
16. About 2% of earth’s waters is
in the form of solid, massive
bodies of ice called GLACIERS.
Deposited snow that falls
during winter season piles up
yearly.
20. A huge envelope of air
surrounds the earth and is
pulled by gravitational force
The earth’s atmosphere is
primarily composed of 78%
nitrogen, 21% oxygen, and 1%
other gases.
24. It is where all forms of life
exist. Life can be found
anywhere on earth.
Sometimes, it is also thought
of as a huge ecosystem that
consists of biotic and abiotic.
