1. The Eagle and the Bluebird
FADE IN:
EXT. WOODED AREA - EARLY AFTERNOON
WIDE SHOT - pans down from sky onto scene. A Bluebird and Eagle
sit in a tree. There is a field of lambs of various sizes
grazing beneath them.
CUT TO:
EXT. WOODED AREA - EARLY AFTERNOON
MED SHOT OF TREE - Bluebird admiring its beauty in a mirror. The
Bluebird and the Eagle begin taunting each other.
Eagle
(acting superior)
Hey you, see that lamb?
CUT TO:
EXT. WOODED AREA - EARLY AFTERNOON
MED CU - Of small lamb in field.
PAN TO:
EXT. WOODED AREA - EARLY AFTERNOON
MED SHOT OF TREE - Pan through next line Bluebird and Eagle in
tree.
Eagle
Betcha I can pick it up faster than you can
look in that lil mirror of yours.
Bluebird
(Condescending)
*Scoffs* Oh really? Prove it ya sack of
feathers.
Eagle
(Filled with Determination)
Oh I will.. *pauses* you know you’re made of
feathers too, right?
Bluebird
(Realizes his mistake)
Well.. yeah.. Just go pick up the lamb!
CUT TO:
EXT. WOODED AREA - EARLY AFTERNOON
OVER THE SHOULDER SHOT - The Eagle jumps out of the tree and
runs through the field to a lamb, picks it up fireman style, and

carries it off scene. The lamb struggles as (s)he’s getting
carried off.
CUT TO:
EXT. WOODED AREA - EARLY AFTERNOON
MED SHOT OF TREE - The Eagle comes back to the tree licking his
lips, and ready to flaunt his success.
Eagle
(Content and egotistical)
That was pretty easy, you know what goes
really good with lamb?
Bluebird
(Annoyed)
What?
Eagle
(Mocking)
Doesn’t matter, you’ll never find out.
*laughs and flies away*
Bluebird
(furiously to himself)
I need to prove I’m better… At least I’m
already prettier.*looks at mirror again to
check himself out*
CUT TO:
EXT. WOODED AREA - EARLY AFTERNOON
OVER THE SHOULDER SHOT - The Bluebird jumps out of the tree and
runs through the field to a gigantic lamb. He clutches his
talons onto it and attempts to carry it away, but with no effect
at all. The lamb does not even notice his presence.
CUT TO:
EXT. WOODED AREA - EARLY AFTERNOON
MED SHOT OF LAMB AND BLUEBIRD- The Bluebird continues to
struggle.o
Bluebird
(struggling, grunting)
Come on. You’re gorgeous, you can do this…
You can do this…
The Bluebird’s talons become stuck in the lamb’s wool. He
continues to struggle.
Bluebird
(pauses)
*whines* I THINK I BROKE A NAIL!
CUT TO:
3. 3
EXT. WOODED AREA - EARLY AFTERNOON
OVER THE SHOULDER SHOT - The Eagle flies back and sees the
Bluebird struggling.
EAGLE
(contentedly snide)
Hah! Better call Mary to come get her lamb!
*laughs at own joke so hard he falls out of
tree*
CUT TO:
EXT. WOODED AREA - EARLY AFTERNOON
WIDE SHOT - A Farmer comes into the scene and begins circling
the Bluebird on the large lamb. He is gesturing and laughing at
the Bluebird, while trying to figure out how to untangle him
from the lamb’s wool. The Bluebird sees the Farmer and begins
struggling more intensely.
CUT TO:
EXT. WOODED AREA - EARLY AFTERNOON
MED SHOT OF FARMER AND BLUEBIRD - The Farmer goes to the
Bluebird, untangles him from the lamb, and grabs him/her.
BLUEBIRD
(slightly fearful)
Get your paws off me, you’re gonna dirty up
my feathers!
FARMER
(Chuckles while speaking)
Oh, you’ll be perfect for my daughter.
BLUEBIRD
(really not liking this idea)
What… what does that mean?
FARMER
(pauses)
You’re going to be her pet.
BLUEBIRD
(really not liking this idea)
Well that doesn’t sound too bad…
FARMER
(pauses)
You’ve never met her.
CUT TO:
4. 4
EXT. WOODED AREA - EARLY AFTERNOON
SIDE SHOT - The Eagle stands up on the ground to see the
Bluebird being taken away. He shakes his head.
EAGLE
(turns to look at camera)
I guess the lesson to be learned here is:
don’t let your beauty overestimate your
power.
