After receiving my own first car, I photographed the Volkswagen logo on the from of it after the rain because of the textures and space fills the rain created. The water droplets portray added a factor of movement and pattern.
Using watercolor, I painted the tree with different shades of blues and purples to keep a theme of color. I splattered paint over the edges of the tree to fill in space and create
balanced in the overall piece.
Using clay, I created a contrast of something hard and sturdy with something delicate and beautiful. I split the piece up in 3 pieces to place more geometric patterns in my work, and give more dimension. The lotus flower symbolizes how I try to keep peace within my mind even if the walls, or challenges, in my life are standing right in front of me.

Photographing the Duomo in Florence, I was enamored by the small details that reside within the structure. The strong linear features of the building, and repetition of pattern inspired my composition.
Walking through the streets of Rome, I photographed this sign because of the power the street art portrayed. Here and throughout the city, there is a constant dichotomy of historical Rome versus the new Rome.

While attempting to navigate the underground trains of Europe found this sign. It reminds me of the nostalgic scenes in romantic movies where lovers are chasing after each other. The vibrancy of the sign lit everything around it up, placing emphasis on the bright sign.
While in Europe of the summer I was able to photograph the community that is Rome. This scene seemed so calm and slow paced that I wanted to capture the melancholy moody of this street by stilling the movement using leading lines.
I was inspired when I saw this line of bricks while driving down the road, the varied texture interested me. The bricks create a pattern and sense of space that I further emphasized by editing the image into black and white.
By fusing different colors of glass together and melting it on a wave-like mold, I created this piece. I wanted to display an idea of the layers of an ocean and how it has blue and black hues to it depending on where in the water you are. The spaces of the just clear glass are to represent the empty spaces in the ocean where nothing resides.
