Gear ratios are selected by engaging and disengaging clutches in a specific pattern, shown in the clutch selection table and provided in a lookup file.

MapleSim allows for extremely efficient and high fidelity creation of your physical systems.In this slide: The results show the behavior of the engine and vehicle during the drive test. The engine revs up until the gear number is increased. The RPMs decrease in response, then increase until the next gear is engaged. The vehicle tracks the desired speed very closely, and we can see the fuel consumption stabilize.
